Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomPerhaps some guidlines to direct you to the hotel from the main road. We'd already gone out of the village before we realized we'd missed the turning requiring a U-turn on quite a busy road.
Stayed overnight heading back to Santander towards the end of our touring trip. Posada del Rancho is right on the side of the road but because of the one-way system, if travelling west to east, you have to pass it and go back on youself. Similarlly on leaving travelling east you go out of the village and need to turn around. The hotel contacts you to provide passport details prior to arrival and subsequently lets you know when your room is available. There is no reception and the room key is collected from the taverna below. We had an evening meal in the cafe/tapas bar in the grounds of the Hotel La Rancha. Breakfast was a simple affair (croissant, coffee, orange juice) included in the price we paid but I believe you could order add-ons if required.

United KingdomGreat communication and friendly staff on site in the taberna. I usually stay in the city itself but as I was spending time exploring the local area this local proved to be ideal. I will certainly use this hotel for my future visits to the area.

The price especially. the location was spot on, The bed extremely comfortable, good size room, very clean bathroom, bottle of water beside our bed each. we didn't need our room cleaned. breakfast is very basic, no choice given at all. but that was fine, enough to start the day. or alternatively the bar will supply croissants very cheaply. I fully recomend.

United KingdomLack of hanging space for clothes, but that was not a real issue for a one night stay.
Spacious room, comfortable bed and pillows, modern refurbished shower room. Great to have a dedicated desk/office area away from the television. Delicious coffee for breakfast and fresh orange juice. Surprisingly, even though our room was above the bar/restaurant terrace we were not disturbed at all by noise from below.

PolandIncluded breakfast is enough poor. Coffee or tea, juice, two peaces of bread and butter with jam. But is adequate to the price of accommodation.
Big private parking, restaurant on the ground floor, warm blanket. The pictures in the hotel's corridor are amazing)

SwitzerlandBreakfast offers no buffet or egg options. As expected, no one speaks English in this region.
Spacious rooms. We traveled with family and children and were able to easily book connected rooms. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast bread and croissants were delicious, accompanied by fresh orange juice.

Great location just miles away from the main attraction, Segovia. Staying here was considerably less expensive than staying in Segovia. We were able to visit Sepulveda (recommended!) since it was nearby. The room was comfortable and the location offered a cafe downstairs that offered meal and drink options.

United StatesI don't know how you can be sure you are getting the room that you want if you book at this hotel. I am not casting blame, maybe I did something wrong on the booking. But, I felt like I didn't get what I paid for.
I booked this online based on the photos and ratings. I paid roughly USD$100/night for 2 nights. When I got to check in at reception, they said I was getting the hostal, not the hotel room that I thought I was. These are both located in the same complex-it is a big operation with hotel, hostal, stores, meeting rooms, restaurants, etc. I went to the hostal, and saw it was more like a $50/night place. I looked it up on line, it was around $60 for that night. I thought a mistake had been made. After some discussions, reception gave me one night at the nice hotel and one night at the hostal, for the money I paid (roughly $200)

United KingdomLocation is terrible. Room was cold.
More of a glorified motel than hotel. Safe and secure underground garage parking for our motorbikes but a 5 minute walk away from the hotel. Not sure what we were expecting but whilst adequate the walls were quite thin. I could hear next doors having a 'banging' time, but luckily he didn't last long. Room was cold, heater/aircon had buttons but didn't work. TV was wonky on the wall. The bar is adequate but restaurant stops serving quite early in the evening. Breakfast was very basic Spanish style. Pick some breakfast tapas items off the bar. In the middle of nowhere. Nearest other bar is a stripclub and the place is miles away from Sergovia itself.
