It's quite a long walk to the beach 25 mins, lots of steps to climb on the way home

Fantastic breakfast, freshly squeezed orange juice & excellent choice of fruit, cereals, cold meats, cheese, sliced avocado & tomato. A good range of fresh bread to toast & lovely slices of cakes. A good range of coffees & teas. Breakfast served in an idyllic courtyard with fountain and plants. Hotel in the historic Barrio Alto near the castle, cool, comfortable with an abundance of Old World charm

The situation, as we had to go up a very steep hill every time we went out. At times put us off to go into town.

Just a small note: there was no trash bin in the room and we ran a bit low on toilet paper during our stay. Nothing major, and I’m sure it would’ve been sorted quickly if we had asked — the team was that friendly and responsive!

I had a truly wonderful stay at La Casa 1832 Boutique in Saluncar. The place has a beautifully preserved old-style charm that feels both authentic and stylish. Every corner of the property reflects thoughtful maintenance and a deep respect for its historical character, yet it still offers all the modern comforts you’d expect. What really made the experience special was the staff — incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Whether it was offering local tips, cold beer or just sharing a friendly smile, their hospitality was top-notch. If you're looking for a unique and cozy place with character and heart, I highly recommend La Casa 1832. It’s a perfect blend of elegance, history, and genuine service.

If you are after a modern hotel with lifts, TV screens etc this is not for you.

This hotel offers old school glamour. It is Riad in style, the rooms we stayed in were enormous and beautiful, with huge bathrooms, double sinks, loads of hot water, the beds were really comfortable and it was simply rather marvellous. The walk down to the plaza was less than five minutes and the hotel is adjacent to the amazing castle.

Poor air conditioning in the bedroom which blew a strong blast of very cold air at the bed. Room got hot and stuffy if turned off

Access to the property was messy. No parking nearby. Very confusing to access. If your are driving, I recommend planing ahead of time to avoid inconveniences

It was tough having the bathroom outside of the room.

There were very few guests, and we had the upper roof deck and breakfast to ourselves.

Charming and beautifully decorated with antiques from Africa and around the world. It’s nothing like a modern chain hotel. The room we had was huge with a fantastic bathroom area.

This is the most unbelievably beautiful hotel we have ever stayed in!! Amazing decor, totally relaxing and lovely staff in a great location in the old part of town.

A small thing - room 2 has an external bathroom, which I'd managed not to notice when booking. The bathroom is excellent, and private to the room, but it's still a pain having to get dressed to go to the loo in the night.

This is a fabulous choice. The building is old and stunningly renovated and decorated, it's a family home too, and service was excellent but never intrusive. At the top of the town within a few minutes walk of the castle and Barbadillo bodega, with a quiet square for breakfast/lunch in quiet local bars the other way. And the room (#2) was huge. I loved that the balcony doors could be opened to air the room, too.

Not a fault of the hotel but access quite difficult for cars - streets very narrow with high pavements and one-way system. Although plenty of restaurants locally, a fair walk to main area of town and better selection.

Old quaint building with numerous floors and outside terraces. Very cool both in-and outdoors. Great view of town, beaches and sunset. Staff were unbelievably helpful, attentive and welcoming. Rooms very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Underground garage was essential for parking although no direct access from hotel.
