How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Offsite parking down a steep hill not ideal, and driving a right-hand drive vehicle it's difficult to get your ticket before the barrier comes down!
Excellent location on the edge of the historic centre. Quiet, with very helpful, friendly staff. Kettle in room was a bonus. Glassed-in balcony a delightful feature. Good breakfast with choices of hot and cold, and regional.

The location and history - a charming hotel - we felt welcomed the minute we arrived. The room was prepared for our arrival with lampshades on and air conditioning. There is a beautiful garden to relax in along with some cost common spaces to enjoy.

As we were on the attique floor, the elevators could only bring us so far, and had to walk one flight of stairs to room. But fortunately we did not have too much luggage, this was fine.
The room was large and comfortable attique style with several ceiling windows looking out to lovely views of Santiago. We enjoyed our stay here. While not inside the walls of the pedestrian city, the hotel is just across the street and very close. Location was excellent, walking distance and very near the Cathedrale de Santiago de Compostelle. The inner garden for breakfast and taking a rest is a haven of green and freshness which we liked alot. Appreciate that the hotel was able to arrange parking for our car.

Very friendly service at the front desk. Excellent breakfast in a calm and cozy environment. Beautiful and well maintained garden. Excellent location close the the historical centre.

Car parking was hit or miss. Luckily we did get parked, however, it is a public car park and very busy. Would travel by train if visiting again as driving through the city was slow and challenging.
Great location, within easy walking distance of the city centre and the cathedral. Beautiful gardens, a little oasis of calm in the very busy city.

Our first room was very small with a hot porch that had a view of the garden, which would have been lovely except for the heat. We requested to be moved and the staff moved us to a lovely room with a sitting area as shown in the pictures.
Beautiful renovated historic building with modern art. Lovely social areas inside and a grassy oasis with sitting areas and a beautiful view of a historic building. Responsive staff.

We had no complaints -- all was good.
The hotel is located in a perfect spot to walk to the historic parts of the city. The grounds are beautiful and the hotel is filled with old world charm and history. The breakfast was exceptional and there was a nice lounge for relaxing and having a snack in the evening.

Beautiful historic hotel with lovely furnishings and garden. Nice breakfast room (could eat outside) with good quality food. Very comfortable and quiet room (at side of buidling). Great location, just by wall of old town. Airport bus just a minutes walk from hotel.

Lovely classic old fashioned Spanish hotel with loads of character and more importantly very friendly and helpful staff. Just off the main part of Santiago but 5 mins walk and you’re there. Nice reward for completing the Camino Ingles.

It’s proximity to the cathedral and too much of the downtown activity. Also, the staff was fantastic.
The property was beautiful. It was located just below the wall around the central city. We had very easy access to everything we wanted to do. The food in the restaurant is good. They had a bar and café that was accessible for extended hours.
