Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The location was great for a good price too, the cooking facilities were good enough for a short stay, and the cleaning staff were lovely and very chatty with me.

PolandPlace is in a strict city center , batroom in the room could be renovated a bit but it was overall good for one night. Big plus for accepting dogs , only disatvantage was that there is no acess by the car to the hotel. So we had to park the car in nearby hotel parking and carry our bags to the hotel.

SpainFrom the info page on the ad and the images I got the idea that I would have some small kitchen facilities and parking included. The rooms had a small mini fridge which was nice but nothing more. There isn't any parking at all, I guess when they say parking they mean that parking exists in the area. The nearest parking is about a 5-10 minute walk from there and is paid. I ended up paying 17€ for parking my car overnight. The exterior noise insulation is good but you can hear everything your neighbours are doing, even practicing their Spanish on Duolingo. In the end, it's cheap, clean and comfortable and for that price you can't expect more.
Check in is completely digital, which was great for me but if you don't have a cell connection it could be a problem. I liked not having to deal with anything. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and well insulated from the noise outside. My room was on the street and I didn't hear anything. One of the rooms (we rented 2) heating didn't seem to be working but that didn't bother me. Both rooms had a mini fridge but no other kitchen facilities. Parking was non-existent. The location is right in the city centre near everything you might want to see.For the price you pay you can't ask for more.

New ZealandThe checkin process was complicated and confusing. It was not clear you had to complete the online checkin process before you could enter the premises. There is no reception. Attempts to call or message were not successful. We requested parking (paid) yet repeated requests for the instructions how to park were not made clear. We parked in a 24 hour car park instead. Information where to park to unload would also have been useful.
The place is in an excellent location and we were happy with the room itself. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean. We appreciated the fridge.

United StatesWell, the check-in process was not the easiest. This has been previously mentioned by other travelers from all around. I had to submit my documents (US passport) through the internet. I know this is not a safe practice, but the host left me no other option. The parking was a hassle. The host gave me two options. However, he/she failed to mention one of the off site parking garages was not 24 hours. Consequently, I was driving around and backtracking looking for this second garage which thankfully was open 24 hours. We arrived to Salamanca late in the night because we had a long drive from Portugal. The last thing I wanted to do was drive around searching for which parking garage I could access. The breakfast was included, and it was noted that it ended at 1130 hours aka 11:30am. Well, we arrived to the breakfast location of Maldeamores at precisely 1100 (30 mins to spare). The woman was very rude. Remember, we had a very late drive the previous night. I was traveling with two small children who needed to eat. As I mentioned, the woman at this restaurant was extremely rude. My wife speaks fluent Spanish, so there was no language barrier. The woman said she ran out of fruit. We left with dry bread, a few slices of ham, and some jam for the bread. Prisoners eat better than this. The woman told my wife she is closing her restaurant promptly at 1130, and we would be forced out of the restaurant whether we were finished or not. We explained to her we had a reservation made by Alan at the hotel we stayed, and the time was noted until 11:30. The woman said Alan can “say whatever he wants,” but she runs the restaurant and she will be closing. All in all, we left with about 15 mins to garble down our breakfast and coffee. This was NOT an enjoyable experience to say the least. We had a 22 night vacation and this was var far the worst eating experience we had. Alan should know how rude this woman was. I would never set foot in that place again.
I liked that it was positioned within walking distance to the attractions we wanted to see during our short visit.

United KingdomPillows were a bit old and lumpy. There's no proper kitchen counter surface.and it all felt a bit squeezed in but we were glad to have the convenience of a sink and hob so it was a happy compromise
Bedroom bathroom, bedding and towels were all clean. The hotel was fairly quiet but you can hear the neighbours through the bathroom wall. We had a nice little terrace at the back but it had no seats or table so only useful for hanging out towels and laundry to dry. The contactless check-in process is a bit elaborate but it worked fine for us. Lift was handy. Location is superb.

BrazilAlthough the cleaning was really good, there was a constant stench of sewage coming out of the pipes in the bathroom, indicating that a building in an old city does has sanitation issues that demands a more frequent cleaning of the septic tanks It felt weird to have all the reception services - check in and check out, as well as all the entries - replaced by an app, which made for no contact with any staff at all and a very impersonal stay. After you check in, there is not even a WhatsApp message to ask if everything was fine. It felt like an anthopological experiment of service without humans. I needed help to book a taxi for very early morning and had to go to the other hotel of the company to ask for it, as in WhatsApp and email there was no answer, but the lady there was very nice and helpful. At the end of the stay, everything worked well.
the location was excellent: right in the middle of the Monumental Area, very close to main touristic attractions and short walking distance to commercial areas. Very close to the University of Salamanca. Plenty of nice restaurants around. if you need to go outside of the monumental area, you can get public transportation in 10 minutes walk or less if you want a taxi.
