The view of our room. in addition, we think it could’ve been handy if the guest welcome pack covered more of the toilet necessities, like toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo.

We should have stayed more days in this jewel. We are coming back.

Spectacular room with a shower experience beyond expectations . A breakfast too big for a one day stay . A restaurant where you are spoiled from apperitive to coffee. And above all: the way medieval architecture was repected when intergrating the hotel in the building is remarcable.

Signage into the hotel could be improved. Largely found due to Google.

Superior room, excellent. Slightly quirky but well presented. Excellent dinner and wine selection. Close to the motorway for Santander, just over an hour.

Some spots were not clean. We can talk about a glass or a knife as well as of a corner in the bathroom. That’s just a pity. It is not that things are not cleaned but not really checked or done thoroughly.

Nice architecture, mix from old and new. Diner at the restaurant was very good, very friendly staff, short menu but local products and very tasty, kitchen with food quality above average. Thanks Valentin for your recommendations.

It was an extremely hot day and there was no air conditioning. Although the room did cool at night with the windows open. The waiter that evening had an off-putting attitude 😒

The bed could have been better -- it was two singles pushed together. The WiFi was a little patchy during our stay.

The junior suite we staying in was amazing -- so stylish and it had a twin rain forest shower and a wooden tub at the end of the bed for bathing! The public areas and gardens were equally good -- with stone arches and a terrific library with one glass wall.

The older man in the dining room was very miserable! The younger man was charming.

Beautiful converted convent with luxurious spacious room. Lovely grounds. Very close to main road connection to Santander/ Bilbao. Breakfast was great value.

Stunning hotel, building, location and staff were excellent

While the style of decoration in the room is stunning, it is looking a little tired now (lots of design awards in 2014) with chips in the dark plaster finish very visible. There was a build up of grime at the edges of the bathroom floor tiles, sliding loo door was sticking and the bath shower screen was decidedly wonky and very awkward to open & close (Room 103). A little refresh TLC needed for this amazing place. Bar server inexperienced and unprofessional.

Fantastically converted old buildings with architectural design twists, very atmospheric and dramatic. Gardens are very pretty, lovely for a drink before dinner. Bed was huge and very comfortable, room large and furniture good quality. Views lovely of both internal courtyard cloisters and out to the front. Superb restaurant, wonderful food. Can’t praise the lady in charge of the restaurant highly enough, she went above and beyond to recommend dishes and even provided complimentary tasters of other dishes and extra wines.

Staff were excellent and loved the quirkiness of the hotel. It was very clean and was a great last night before the ferry home.

Staff very friendly and welcoming. Room spacious, clean and comfortable. Conversion from 13th century convent to boutique hotel was very tastefully done, ensuring many of its original features were evident. The lovely gardens provide space , tranquility and relaxation. Evening meal nicely cooked and presented, good choice of breakfast options.
