We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

NetherlandsBecause of the small windows on the top floor, the room was a bit dark and had not a real view of the beautiful city. Also upon arrival the mini fridge was disconnected; it took quite some time to cool.
The place was clean and styles nicely. We slept on the top floor, which had a slanted roof with two windows in it, but it had a nice airco and good shower. And the place was easy to check in yourself via a link I got sent. And slap bang in the middle of the beautiful town.

The hostal is on a quiet sidestreet in the lovely old town of Olite. We had a top floor room with castle view, comfy bed, and whirlpool bath for a very reasonable price Check in was somewhat curious as the front desk is not manned in the afternoon/evening check in period (entrance is by code box) but the ladies are there in the morning for breakfast (delicious and at a reasonable price) and are friendly and personable.

This was my third stay at this hotel and it was wonderful. My room had a view of the castle, nice size bathroom and spa tub. What more could I ask for! Check in was easy. Although we arrived around 1pm our rooms were ready early and we were able to check in. Checking out was quick and easy too. Overall another wonderful stay. Our friends had 2 other rooms types and they were also quite happy with their stay.

United StatesThis was my 3rd stay at this hotel but the first time with the automated check in. While the process worked, I didn't like having to enter a code to enter the room. I would have preferred having a key card. Although I understand staffing limitations there was no front desk or personal touch. The only time we had interaction with someone was to pay at check out. I've been to Olite several times so didn't need help with the area but if someone is expecting recommendations or support for the area this won't happen at this hotel.
The superior rooms with a spa tub were wonderful - spacious room and bathroom with beautiful views of the castle.

United StatesThe challenge with this stay was a room mix up. Normally I book the superior double rooms which have a nice view and spa tub. I needed 2 rooms and when I originally booked only one was available. So I booked one superior double room and anther standard room. However I kept checking to see if a superior room opened up and two weeks prior to the trip I was happy to see that one had so I cancelled the standard room and booked a separate reservation for the superior double room so we'd have two superior double rooms. We arrived at the hotel and no one was at reception but we easily entered using the provided codes. When we got to the rooms we discovered only one was a superior and the other was a standard. I went downstairs and no one was available. I called the number provided on the front door for service - no one answered. I called again and explained to the person that there had been a mix up and we had reservations for 2 superior double rooms. She immediately replied that I had cancelled the superior room and reserved a standard. I had hard copies of my reservations and also checked online at Booking.com. Both showed that I had 2 superior rooms reserved. I also contacted Booking.com and they confirmed this. I tried to explain this to the hotel representative on the phone but they insisted that I was wrong and they did not have any remaining superior double rooms (it is a small hotel). There was no one at reception the rest of the day to show my documentation. The next afternoon someone was at the reception desk. I showed her the hard copies along with my phone and Booking.com. She continued to insist that I was wrong. I said that I would never be returning and her response was "good". I understand the room was not available and there was no way for me to have the superior room. It was the blaming of the customer and rudeness of the staff that will cause me to never stay here again.
Leaving This was my 6th and last stay at this hotel. I've recommended it to friends in the past and would never again. If you want rude to non existent service this is a good choice. Otherwise I'd recommend the Parador for excellent service or the Apartments Ducay for clean, nice and good value accommodations.

United StatesHorrible rude staff, nearly non-existent. Don't expect to get the room you have reserved. Towels in bad shape. Stay at the Parador for better service. Or stay at the Apartamentos Ducay for good value and space. Also to clarify: I had made one original reservation prior for 2 rooms, one superior and one regular. When I saw that another superior was available I cancelled the regular room on my originial reservation and created a second reservation for the available superior room. This is not a complicated change or "several modifications and cancellations". At the hotel the staff insisted that I was wrong and would not acknowledge that they had made a mistake. This was my main issue. I understand the superior room was not available because the hotel had made a mistake. But they never acknowledged their mistake (until they responded on booking.com) and instead blamed the customer.

SpainDuring the day the air conditioning seemed to work okay, but during the evening and night it didn't cool the room at all. Even with the windows open we couldn't cool the room, and it was a nightmare to sleep. I even ended up trying to sleep on the tiled floor just to get some sleep. No staff available in evenings and night to talk to about this! Also didn't like the self check in system, which we could complete fully to get the code to enter. We were lucky there was actually someone behind reception (who also didn't know how to use the online system) but could make a phone call to get us into our room.
The location relative to the palace and everything in the town was very good.

SloveniaObligation to sent the photos of my identity documents via WApp. The information on the website about the opening time at the reception is WRONG, correct it! The stuff is rude, not a hint of a smile, 30 minutes (!!!) late in the morning with no excuse and speaking ONLY SPANISH. If they were at least kind, but are not.

United KingdomThe check-in was on whatsapp and had to send our passports via whatsapp picture... not very secure. Either don't ask for passeport like for airbnb or have staff present most of the days. We arrived at 4pm so normal day time. Room was really small so good if you're only there to sleep, but not really to spend any other time. But it was as per pictures so no problem.
Location was great. Morning staff person was friendly and bubbly. Great to have breakfast available on site (for a fee)

United KingdomThis hotel has no reception and no human interaction at all times. At no point during the online booking with Booking.com was this flagged up. If it had, I would have chosen another hotel. Instead, arriving late and in the dark, I was left standing in the street being asked for passport photographs in Spanish (which I fortunately speak) on whatsapp before being sent a code to key on the door pad and very confusing instructions on how to open the two entrance doors and then the room number (HAB NO). Trying to call the whatsapp number only got a message to say no one was available. As for the accommodation, it turned a bad start into an awful night - bed and pillows were rock hard, extremely uncomfortable and giving anything but a restful night.
