Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LatviaThe conditioner was very loud so we were forced to turn it off and sleep without normal air.
The location was very central, and it was quite easy to go anywhere. However, be aware that it is right next to the Rambla, which is not the cutest place to be. Also, I liked the balcony, and that in front of it was free space with trees and not a next building.

United StatesThe cold light fluorescent light bulbs were awful... like bing in a hospital. So we went to a local market and purchased a warm light led and switched it out for a more romantic and comfy vibe. This part of Barcelona is very busy, noisy, smelly and a little rough. This is to be expected in a city yes... and it took us a little by surprise.
The room was clean and spacious. The balcony was a nice touch. The staff were friendly. The room was reasonably quiet for being in the heart of the city. Plenty of good food choices within waking distance.

UkraineLiving next to the central food market is quite noisy during very early morning already but having some earplugs would help.

SerbiaVery noisy street bellow, bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Noise isolation is poor. Also bring your hair dryer if you need it - the one in the room is very old and weak. Our towels weren't changed in time (supposed to be every 2 days).
Great location, in the city centre. Clean. Nice, rustic vibe. Kind and friendly staff. Small fridge in the room is a great plus.

ItalyWhen leaving the hotel, the key has to be surrendered to the reception desk. I do not know why they have this policy but it is their policy. I left my laptop inside the room whenever I go out and thankfully it was still there lols. They cleaned my room even though I did not put the sign outside and it was only my 2nd day.
I booked a single room with no balcony. All single room with balcony was fully booked at that time. The room has its own restroom. It has a little fridge and closet for your clothes. There is no working table though. But it was okay because I did not intend to work on my laptop during my weekend stay. There is a TV. Bed is good and comfortable. The room door knob at first is confusing because there is no visible part to lock it when you are inside, I had to test it. So when you close the door, it does lock it already. Meaning from the outside you can only enter when you use the key. From the ground floor to the next floor where the reception desk is located, you have to use stairs. Lift is only available from the reception desk floor. Location is really good. It is near the metro Liceu, just walking distance. The metro Liceu is along the popular Las Ramblas street. There are also a lot of food options within 3-5min walking distance. Overall the room served its purpose for me, even without fancy facilities.

United KingdomRoom air-conditioning was a bit too loud, but if you spend the majority of the day and night out, the noise does not matter that much.

PolandYou need to leave the key at the reception when leaving the hotel - feels a bit uncomfortable. In the morning of the check out, I got a message on booking and a phone call to the room that we need to check out at 11 (it was 10am) - we felt rushed which was not necessary. Also, there was no iron/ironing board available
Hostal Ramos is well-located - just next to La Rambla and metro station. It is quiet, clean and has A/C. Overall it was a good experience and good price vs quality.

United KingdomWe had 3 single beds in our room, two were really comfy but one was very loud and squeaky which meant we all struggled to sleep due to the noise. The bathroom was a little bit tired, cracks in the sink and a stinky drain (make sure you keep the toilet seat closed!) But you could tell it was all kept clean, it just needed a bit of updating.
Room was perfect for what we needed, did what it said on the tin! Room was nice and cool especially as it was so hot outside. Balcony is a nice addition too. Staff on the door were really lovely!

ItalyIf you room faces the side lane, like ours did, it can be quite noisy especially till the supermarket shuts for the night. There's also a lot of light from the outside and the curtains don't help too much (I think there are shutters, but we didn't realize until much later, so that's our bad).
We stayed in a 3 persons room. It was a comfortable room, even though a bit small, but perfect to come back after a long day of exploring Barcelona. The room has a small fridge, and a TV (you need to get the remote from the reception), and gets cleaned everyday. There's a coffee machine in the common room, along with water dispensers for hot/cold water. The location is great... close to La Rambla, yet peaceful and tucked away from the constant crowd, the gothic quarter, placa Catalunya etc. everything is walking distance. There are a couple of metro stations close by, so that's super convenient too!

New ZealandToo expensive for what we got and a small room
The property was ok. Staff were awesome . I left my jacket in the wardrobe a wanted them to post it to me but they says they couldn’t even though I was prepared to pay for the postage . I think it was over priced for what we got as we stayed in many other places a the price was a lot less.
