Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSure a little more cleaning but sheet wise it was fine, liveable but I think it is pasable for a night but they could be more cleaning, they are dead white sheets but there are stray Elments. Great for a night.
I liked that the staff spoke in Spanish or English and adjusted accordingly. They were not dismissive or rude. It was a fantastic location and perfect size for me for a one night stay. I loved it really.’ It was what I wanted and I couldn’t have expected more.

United KingdomReally missed not having drinks facilities in room !
Very good location, short walk to bus/train stations in the heart of city and close to seafront. Plenty of bars, restaurants and coffee shops which are relatively inexpensive!! Went on lovely boat cruise to Somo via Pedrenà. Beautiful surfing beach!! Excellent value at €6.50 return.

United StatesRoom, especially the bathroom was very outdated. I’ve stayed in cheap hostels/albergues that were much cleaner and up to date. The only good thing that I can say about the tiny shower was that it had hot water. Had to park in public parking a few blocks away
Location was great

HungaryThe isolation of the rooms are almost non existent. Earplugs are needed for sleeping. But if you are out a lot and don’t need more than a minimum comfort it is still good for the price.
Very good position. Nice neighbourhood. Close to the train station. Cheap price. Easy booking, check in was possible very early. Quite clean room.

PolandThe room smelled like some kind of rodent was living there, mice or gliss fliss, a very distinctive smell. Window to a dead tiny courtyard would be ok it wasn't for the fact that it was very mouldy. Bath/shower combo had added glass wall/protector - almost impossible to get into it doe to that, and shower gel on the other side of the glass wall... 2 shower gels to be honest... No shampoo... The only thing that was great is the location.

United StatesCould use a shelf in the bathroom.
Good place to stay for a night or two. Location was fantastic - right next to city hall and the mercado. There is a bus stop across from city hall that will take you to the Palacio and the penninsula and elsewhere. Ten minute walk to Centro Botin. Hostel is on the 3rd floor, but if carrying luggage, by all means use the little mini elevator because 3rd floor does not equate to three flights of stairs. It's more like 10+ flights of stairs due to the design of the building, which is primarily private residences. Room was renovated but oddly as others have pointed out, the doors were not replaced nor were the baseboards, so was kind of a mix of old and new. Bathroom was nicely renovated but small, and completely lacked a shelf to place toiletries on. Bed was comfortable and WiFi good and room was quiet. Good value for money during low season.

New ZealandWhilst I understand that bathrooms in Spain are often small, I just about banged my chest on the sink getting up from the toilet. it was cramped but the shower itself was alright for size. There was a drink stain on the bedroom wall and one on the bathroom door.
The location was excellent and the staff were friendly.

United KingdomCleanliness wasn't the highest and the bedding was poor quality. No air-conditioning which meant we needed to keep the window open which caused a lot of noise. Room was dated.
Location was great and a short walk from all of the tapas bars and parks. Secure and easy access. Staff were friendly and helpful. Close to the main bus stop which we used to access the city from the airport.

MaltaIt requires some renovation as it is a bit oldie, and it would be appreciated to open the wardrobes when cleaning the room and realise that the blankets inside the (old) closet are all unmade, which makes you doubt about the cleaning.
Super perfect location in walking distance to the train station and the ferry port, and to all types of shops, bars and restaurants. Bed linen and towels clean with a spacious room. Staff was very helpful.
