How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The fan did not represent air conditioning. Also no receptionist
The bed for very comfy. I had read reviews in the past that complained of mattress, I was very happy with mine. I was disappointed that self catering kitchen facilities were not available. I was also disappointed that at no time in 5 days did a 'human' appear at the reception desk. Also we stayed when weather was hot. We were told we had air-conditioning in room. We had A FAN..........not air-conditioning. It was extremely uncomfortable

The place is a bit old
In the heart of Leon. Walking distance to all attractions, Casa de botines - 1min, the Catedral - 5min. A lot of bars and cafes nearby. In the room - everything you need, but looks old. Clean though. Electronic key, very easy to access but need data on your phone

The phone number on the email did not work, but this may have been a temporary issue.
Really in the middle of town Access keys worked well I arrived early and I managed to message owners, and they let me in early. I was very grateful for this. Very good value for money

The location is about city center.. walking distance to grocery and restaurant.. Quite complicated to enter the hotel as no receptionist but online method... find the key card inside of the room but working properly.. the room is too pack for private room as well the bath room.

Initially the smell of disinfectants was very strong but the excellent cleaning staff brought in a fan and in minutes the room was perfect. An excellent and friendly cleaning staff, by the way.

Water in bathroom not potable, but only one sign near entrance that can easily be missed. Staff did not replace toilet paper after being specifically asked to do so.
Great location near plazas. Great value fof money.

There water tap in the shower was broken and we had to call the property (there is no physical reception at the hostal) and ask for another room. Luckily, the second room was ok.

The virtual key system is difficult,after completeing the on line checkin and being emailed the keys the it system resend a chekin request which we ignored having already done it and then we received a email from bookings.com that we had been reported to your company as a no show.We replied to your email to not receive your reply as yet 2/6/2025

The site has no staff, so the locked front door is the main source of security on the site. Unfortunately, the door could be pushed back into the open position, and if no closer be ghe guest, would remai open. It needs to be able to itself if the guest fails to close it.
While the bwd room was the size I expected, the en-suite bathroom was bigger than I expected and had a hip-bath under the shower

The noise from the street is awful! People partying until 6am. After a restless sleep due to the noise I was looking forward to a hot shower but no hot water and no staff to complain to. A curtain missing from one window meant having to close the binding for privacy.
the location is great, room spacious, clean and warm with comfortable bed. Hair dryer in bathroom is a bonus.

Did not have hot water and there’s nobody to talk to since everything is handled through your phone. You can call a number but I did not have access to making calls (being from overseas).

I did not enjoy the fact that there is no one at the reception desk and everything is done through digital keys. The mattress was comfortable but the bed frame was a little bit unstable. There was just one electric plug in the room and it was not working properly.
The location is extraordinary, easily reachable and close to the main urban attractions of the city. The room had heating floor and it was warm and comfy. Everything was very clean and tidy.
