How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Kind of isolated, not much around so great for the night before/after a flight but wouldn’t be very comfortable for multiple days

A spacious comfy room for the night between two flights. Check in was swift. The best thing is the free airport shuttle, it was the main reason for choosing this hotel. Will stay again in the sane situation

Very helpful, great communication, appreciated the shuttle. Very grateful for the late checkin for my son and shuttle service. I highly recommend. Language barrier wasn't a problem for my son, the guest, due to the patience of the reception lady, and using translation app on his phone. I really appreciated reception's kindness.

No restaurants close by. They provided take out services which were either closed or very poor quality. Noise near the lobby.
They offered an airport shuttle. Very inexpensive yet clean. Large rooms. No frills. Drink Vending machine available in lobby.

El Cruce is a basic hostal in a light industrial area with an airport shuttle. That is what we wanted, and that is what we got. Very little ambience, but it was clean and comfortable, staff was pleasant, and we were satisfied with the property.

We chose this accommodation because it was located near Madrid airport & because they had a shuttle to the airport included in the price of the room. They also very kindly picked us up from the airport on the night of our stay. The staff was friendly & helpful. It was a basic room with a bathroom but clean & spacious. It was close to a restaurant which had great home cooked food at very reasonable prices.

A breakfast option would be great because there is no decent place nearby. Well, most people probably book it only because of late or early flights.

As with almost all accommodation that we have stayed at there is very poor reception to wifi in the room

Great stop for the night if you have a flight next day as airport is very close. The free shuttle service to the airport was also very convenient. Location is far out so not really any shops/restaurants in the area. Had to get food delivered. Beds were decent

This hostal is not close to the centre and is not suitable if your aim is to visit Madrid.
This is a good place to stay if your aim is to get to the airport the following day. The hostal will arrange pick up and drop off from and to the airport which is very convenient. The rooms are clean and comfortable.

Excellent pick up & drop off experience as I was only in Madrid for one night. Very efficient….called the hotel and the driver was at the airport in 10 minutes. Room & bathroom was basic, but clean & comfortable. In the morning I walked around the corner, literally 4 minutes away to a small family restaurant, Romero’s & got an excellent affordable simple breakfast. If you’re looking for a budget friendly spot near the airport, this is it.
