How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

nothing in particular, I had everything I needed for my stay
super central location, comfy room, good value for money, the toilet did not have a hairdryer but the staff provided me one, comfortable beds and overall clean.

It is very hard to sleep before everyone else goes to bed. I could here everything from brushing teeth, fights, friends having fun. Take your ear plugs with you or stay up late.
Simple, has everything you need. Good if you are looking only Forbes place to sleep.

It was a great stay, right in the center! They let us leave our luggage for the whole day while we enjoyed Cadaqués. We also lost our headphones during the stay — they found them and kindly sent them back to us in Barcelona at no extra cost. The service was amazing, and we definitely recommend staying here!

There was no staff when I arrived. Rang the bell and some lady arrived unenthusiastically. Didn’t find my booking because she looked the wrong day. Gave me the key and told that the main door will be locked during the night, and asked for payment, that’s was literally all she said. Not a word about room location, breakfast, WiFi or what can I do if I for example lose my key. There was no staff during the evening, night or in the morning. I just left my key on the table once I took off. Room was basic and small, but shower was very clean. Ants found my snacks, but it happens at home too. Very thin walls and you also hear people walking and talking on the hallway.
The location is excellent. The downstairs room (I stayed in room 103) have massive terrace with a view to the square and sea. Morning sun hits the terrace, so I recommend to get your coffee and brekky to your own terrace and enjoy the morning moments.

The staff wasn’t very friendly the day we stayed there
It was by the beach and a very short walk to old town and restaurants. We also had a terrace we didn’t know we were going to have and it was lush.

3 flights of kind of narrow stairs at a very, very hot time. Home was kind of on the small side.
just as in real estate, the three best things from this hotel or location, location, location. It’s about 30 feet from the beach.

The furnishing was very basic, with no fan or ac and only one table fan to ventilate the room. The room also lacked plug points with the only functioning one in the washroom.
The location is right in the city centre by the beach. With supermarkets and cafes all within a 2-minute walk. The rooms were also very affordable hence a great package if you plan to spend most of your time outdoors.

The rooms are small and cramped. The beds are small and a bit uncomfortable. One very thin pillow. The man at the front desk was a bit aloof.
The location is excellent. Right next to the main beach.

The location was great for a morning dip in the sea - you can literally walk wearing a towel from the location to the water. Also, everything was clean.

During check-in, receptionist was not aware or informed of the payment done through Booking and was charged again for the room when only tourists fees were supposed to be paid. I was immediately refunded so everything was good.
Good location, right in the towns square and close to plenty of restaurants. Room was clean and quiet at night.

Loud during the night due to the fact that it's super Central so depends what you are searching for. Bed was not really comfy as it's small and hard, but it depends on your preference. But the room was decent for the price and in total we were happy to stayed at that hostal.
Host was helpful and friendly, super Central, dos are permitted - big plus!

We,ve stayed there several times,the rooms can vary quite a bit,I prefer an external room,though maybe others might find that too noisy. If you're really lucky you might even get a balcony!

I have to say that the room is not worth the real price.
The hostal is very cute and simple. The room is fairly good, with a private bathroom with a tub that was really a nice add. We booked the room for a really low price (bookings mistake), and although the real price is much higher, they charged us the low price (cause we already had the booking).
