Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

An old building with lots of period charm. Room was spacious and comfortable. My room looked out onto the monastery. The ensuite jacuzzi was an unusual but pleasant surprise. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly prepared by the attentive host. The location was superb; less than 10 min drive from Haro, Casalarreina is a small town with an attractive central square and historic monastery. The municipal, outdoor swimming pool is a 3 minute walk away, and well worth a visit if you need to cool down.

SpainCasalarreina is a small pretty village, but there are very few places to eat on a Monday, when several of the bars are closed. Haro offers more choice, and is a 10 minute drive away.
Very traditional, Large airy room. Easy to park, just outside of the property. It is only 5 minutes from the junction of the main Bilbao to Zaragoza motorway.

United KingdomThough not the easiest place to get to it was possible to leave the car not far away. The reception was friendly and efficient and both reception area and bedroom had a lot of character. We were less enthusiastic about the bathroom for, though of a good size and impeccably clean, the only partly operative jacuzzi unit took up a disproportionate amount of space. A restaurant was proposed to us little more than five minutes' walk away and it proved excellent for an evening meal whilst even closer bars and cafes were also available. Breakfast at the hospederia was not memorable and, in terms of value for money, we felt that the overnight stay was only average but it is extremely well located within an interesting little town.

United KingdomThe bathroom looks dated & the bath tube didn’t work. In the morning we were woken up by a very noisy street sweeper machine at 7ish. It was going around for 20 min in the little square where the hotel is located. It is beyond their control but maybe they can have a word with them.
The building is stunning, full of character & in a beautiful location. The view & old stone ‘benches’ within the bedroom were stunning.

United Kingdomthe rooms had been constructed out of the ancient building I guess in the 70s. The bathroom had an ancient jacuzzi which contained the shower - difficult to get in and out of and I would imagine freezing in winter. there were two tiny windows at floor level which opened and two roof lights which appeared not to. no ventilation in bathrooms. The biggest problem was location. there were road works and physically driving to outside the building was a problem (resolved by phoning the hotel to get instructions) . this ought to be a short term problem. there is no bar in the building so not possible to meet the other guests. There is nothing of interest in the village. Trying to find something to eat on a holiday monday evening in the village proved impossible and we had to drive through two villages to find a tapas bar for some food. They dont allow you to leave unattended dogs in the room, nor take dogs to breakfast (which is fair enough), but the dog had to be tied outside while we had breakfast
its nice to be in historic surroundings and in an interesting room. Staff were very helpful. we would never have found the spanish cafe on the edge of the village which would take dogs. Dogs of course were welcome but were also charged for. it was the correct thing to have breakfast which was good
