Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA lovely traditional casa on the hillside in Los carrizales. Close to masca. The beds were comfortable memory foam. There is a seperate flat included upstairs which has living room, bathroom and bedroom, the same as downstairs but the kitchen is downstairs. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for self catering. Nice little sun trap terrace with 2 chairs which recline into sun loungers. Breathtaking views all around the area and plenty of opportunities to hike. It would be good to have an iron and an ironing board. It must be noted that, we booked here to experience some peace in the mountains, but often there were dogs barking, and not just one dog but sometimes multiple dogs! So this did ruin the experience for us a little bit :( The dogs would bark in the morning, in the afternoon, and on our last night, one was barking until 12.30 in the morning!! So please bear this in mind.. When the dogs were not barking though, it was very peaceful and you cannot hear a sound aside the birds and the breeze. Very remote and high in the hills, these roads are only for experienced drivers!

PolandThat the holiday was over and we had to go back 🙁
Beautiful, quiet place. A wonderful view. Daily deliveries of bread were a pleasant surprise. A good starting point for exploring the island, although the roads are a bit winding :) The apartment is well-equipped, very comfortable and clean.

GermanyTwo minor things, that started to bother me only after few nights there. Firstly, indeed the lower temperature in January made it a bit unpleasant in the mornings and in the evenings. The heater would help but you can have it in only 1 place at a time, also not good to waste so much resources I guess. Without the heater it was not "too cold" (if you brought some long sleeves), just not comfortably warm. And during the day it was warmer outside so it was enough to open the doors. Also, there's a bit of an issue with the millipedes. They are harmless I believe, and seem clean (don't leave any dirt), but each morning we had to pick up 2-3 of them from the kitchen floor (so not too many, but still). You can also see them all over the place outside in the area, so they just live there. Over 4 night stay they never appeared in the bedroom or bathroom. It was not a big deal for me, but over time I started missing a hotel. For someone insect phobic this can definitely be challenging. I think in the summer with warm weather and with a bit shorter stay, these would not be an issue.
First of all, for the type of accommodation and location (traditional and rural), it's been really thoughtfully designed to give the guests maximum comfort while keeping the traditional look and feel. No funny smell, everything was fairly new, the bathroom felt modern, the kitchen too, I especially liked the dining table and breakfasts and dinners with the beautiful views from the window, and the fact that you could open many doors to the yard, and walk freely between it and the kitchen. The apartment was spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable, the mattress did not transfer movements, the big thick blanket kept us warm even in January. There's an electric portable heater too, if someone likes more warmth. Since we were 2, we didn't use the upper floor at all, but it seemed to have everything doubled except the kitchen. The water in the shower was hot if needed. From the location you can start a hike up the hill, and in less than an hour you reach the main hiking trail that you can go towards Masca or Baracan, you can also hike direction to the sea, you can also walk to Masca on the street and then a small hiking path, which takes 20-30 minutes all together. There are also buses, they are cheap and reliably late, but only few per day, so you need to plan. So even without a car, the location was great for us, since our purpose was hiking. Extraordinary attention of the host, they really try that the guests feel great and take care of every little issue. The area is beautiful, and being able to really take the time to enjoy it was great. I would book it again :)

United StatesNot much really. It's important to know going in that the place is pretty remote without a store close by. Be sure to have your groceries and other supplies. Also, I am grateful that I didn't drive any of the roads with harrowing switchbacks in the dark.
Beautiful place in a beautiful setting in a very tiny town away from the crowds with very nice facilities inside. The kitchen was well-equipped, the two living rooms had Internet-enabled TVs and the bedrooms were comfortable. The place was close to a very nice trail head with amazing views. Very close to Masca and was on the way to Garachico through some absolutely amazing roads through the mountains -- incredible views and jaw dropping switchbacks!

FinlandVery modern, but rustic style cottage. We liked everything: rooms, vindows, lamps,, , Particularly the bed was very comfotable with high-class bedclothes and the kichen so nice and homelike. All reconstruction is made very professionally. The surroundings is very good for relax and hiking, too. The view to the sea and La Comera is healing for our body And last but not least we thank the hole team that take care of us. M&H Finland
