How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Cuenca seems less traveled to by english speaking people, so they are less geared towards that, but its fine if you know the routine.
Duck themed hostel in Cuenca, good value for the money, plenty of toilets and showers. They have coffee, cereal, toast and muffins in the mornings.

My room had a superb view of the historic part of the city and one night out of two on a weekend night in peak season, I had the 6 bed dorm to myself!

The dorm was a little small for the number of people, which might have been a problem if we'd had more luggage.
Great location, walkable to everything! The included breakfast is nice to have, and it's a friendly little place, with some Enflish spoken by staff. The toilets and showers are all completely enclosed, rather than a line of stalls, and the lockers under the beds are good and robust, though you'll need your own lock.

Breakfast didn’t have any protein options like eggs or meat, but it was still nice to be provided with cereal, drinks, and muffins!
The room was beautiful and the hostel was quiet at night. It’s in a great location to explore historic Cuenca. The staff were friendly and the facilities far exceeded our expectations for the low price we paid!

The bed was a bit tired, the bottom sank and the sheet slipped. But it didn't spoil our sleep. The hostel definitely gets a 10/10 rating.
Cozy and stylish hostel near the historical center. The room is warm, which we are very happy about. The location is amazing! There is a bus stop nearby, in 25 minutes you are at the train station.

My family and I liked a lot our staying in Green River Hostel. Very nice and helpful staff, they helped us with accommodation, let us keep our bags for some hours after check-out and also ordered taxi when we were leaving. Breakfast was lovely, and atmosphere in the hostel was really cozy. I would highly recommend it to everyone!

The only issue I would highlight is the lenght of the bed 180cm, I have 177cm and barely fitted. However there are amazingly comfortable and tall mattresses and the double bed is high quality and doesn’t make any noises at all.
Location: Right between historical city and the city center with all of theshops and restaurants.

The staff is very helpful. She recommends me the local food and sightseeing spots. What I like most is the common area, after one day visiting Cuenca, it is necessary to take a break and relax myself. The breakfast is basic but still enough to start a day.

Clean, cleverly made facilities and stylish decor. I felt and slept well there. Nice and easy going staff, breakfast included is a nice bonus. Good location, bus stop from and to Cuenca Fernando Zóbel train station in the radius of 50 meters. Highly recommended.

Breakfast could have been better but like...that's ok. It was free. It was just coffee, juice, and some pre packaged muffins.
Location was great. The staff was SO nice. The SHOWERS THOUGH. The showers have a separate change area that has a heater. This was place was amazing. The beds were super cozy, had separate lamps per bed, the people staying in my room were really respectful of sound and light. Overall so stoked I stayed here.

Comfortable beds, there were plenty of bathrooms on each floor so were always available. Location was good for walking into town and also the view from the window was great. Nice to have breakfast available at the hostel as well.
