Not enough sockets especially close to the bed. Breakfast is nice but a bit overpriced.

Nice classic hotel with good customer service and nice staff. Very nice rooms especially the ones on the front side of the hotel. Convenient parking with EV chargers even fast

The neighbouring house has a big dog that likes to let you know it’s there. It’s very close to the pool and front of the hotel. The neighbourhood has a rooster so if you like your window open at night be prepared. Rooms a little dated but are still pleasant. Could do with a smart tv and a kettle/coffee machine in the room. Food and drink is over priced but it’s an easy walk to some good restaurants. Carpark is €15 a night but on street parking is free if you’re lucky enough to find one. Sound insulation between rooms is not great. Spa has strong fragrance in main area so not usable by me.

Nice, small spa type hotel. Staff go the extra mile to help and are pleasant to deal with. Nice pool area, good breakfast.

You have to pay extra for the gym, the spa, the parking… not enough sun lounges for all guests… not what I expected overall. I won’t be returning to this place.

The room/suite was fine, but it seemed a bit older and worn. But nothing was a problem.

We enjoyed our time here. It was easy to get the car parked in the hotel garage (15€/night), the check-in was fast and the room was clean and comfortable. We were positively surprised by the dinner and also the breakfast was delicious. The pool was free to use. Perfect to start our journey to visit Spain.

A wedding party was taking place at the hotel, we have no problem with the guests and festivities. In fact it looked like a well organised wedding. However there was loud music until 23:00 but after that, the hotel was nice and silent. It would have been nice to be given notice by the hotel of the wedding in advance as if we needed an early night it wouldn't have been possible with the noise.

    Beautiful hotel with private parking

The majority of the staff were quite rude. There was a significant amount of dust embedded in the carpet on both the walls and the floors, which triggered my husband’s allergies (a bummer during our vacation). The central air conditioning was very weak, leaving the room uncomfortably hot and making it difficult to sleep. If you book a room with two twin beds combined to make a double, be aware there’s no mechanism to keep the beds together and no bedding to bridge the gap, so you end up with two separate beds rather than one. Also, paying extra for a “view” isn’t worth it, as you’ll have to keep the curtains closed to avoid facing directly into the building across the street.

    Location and decoration.

The bathroom could do with some updating, as the wooden panels for the door frame had significant water damage and everything looked a bit dated. Also, although the room was cleaned every day, some of the sheets had stains on them which was a little off-putting. I've stayed in many 4 star hotels where a selection of coffee, tea, cups and a kettle were standard amenities in the room. This was not the case here, and we had to request a kettle and cups for our own tea bags. There were no slippers offered either, and we would have appreciated bedside drawers for additional storage of our smaller belongings. The blinds were also stained and had some holes in them, and it would be great if there were instructions on how to use the blind pole as, for someone like me who was unfamiliar with how to use it, it would have been useful!

The location was great for us, and I liked the building as it was really nicely decorated and had nice touches in the lobby. Room service was quick and efficient, as well as being very tasty. There was a lot of cupboard storage space, the bed was very comfortable and the room was a very decent size. The bathroom was clean and spacious and staff were friendly and helpful.

We thought the menu's in the bar area and restaurant had a very limited selection which is why we mainly used other eateries which was okay as our rate was bed & breakfast only. Also car parking outside the property was a lottery and charging 15 Euros for an overnight stay in the hotel car park seemed excessive to us.

Very pleased with room which was spacious, clean and afforded good views from the balcony's. The bonus of the junior suite meant we had a very large comfortable bed and the double bathroom had an excellent shower which was much appreciated after a full day of exploring the surrounding area. The breakfast was really good with plenty of choice to suit all tastes.

The room was very warm, I had to turn off the radiators, open the window and turn the A/C on to make it liveable. It would have been nice if slippers were provided.

I stayed one night as I was traveling for work. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and charming. The room was elegant and perfectly clean. It also a bidet and toothbrush and toothpaste was provided, very useful since I had forgotten mine. The food in the restaurant is exceptional. There is a garage to park the car, although it is not included in the room price.

A booklet in the hotel recommended various restaurants in Durango for a meal out. We visited a couple of these restaurants and we were under impressed to say the least. As s suggestion maybe the Hotel Management would draw up their own list of recommended restaurants. We wanted to experience the Old Town but we could not find a nice restaurant that was open on that mid week night.

A comfortable hotel with a nice swimming pool and terrace with its own car garage which is very convenient. A good breakfast with a wide range of foods. Hotel location is good to explore the Basque region and visit Guernica

on site parking was full, not many places and we had to park 500 yards away on the road, although this turned out to be half the price of parking on site (7 euros instead of 14). The picture looked like it was in the country, but it is on the edge of a residential town.

The rooms are comfortable, with cozy beds. However, the room’s structure shows signs of age, such as a swollen bathroom door due to humidity and worn-out baseboards. Despite these minor issues, the cleanliness is generally impeccable. Regarding the food, breakfast is excellent, offering a wide variety of options including bread, fruit, sweets, and savory items. Unfortunately, dinner is somewhat disappointing and stands as our main critique. The food is not necessarily bad, but it is often quite greasy, which has always left us feeling overly full and sometimes unwell. Additionally, the dinner menu is repetitive, with clear signs of leftovers being reused (for instance, if hake is served one night, the next day’s soup might be made from the leftover fish).

Silken Hotel Durango is a delightful and pleasant establishment, offering a serene and low-profile atmosphere. The hotel is safe, clean, and quiet, making it an ideal retreat for those seeking tranquility. The pool area is particularly enjoyable. On cloudy days, it remains calm and inviting, while on warmer days, it tends to be busier. Nevertheless, it is always a pleasant place to relax. The staff was always friendly and helpful, especially Ms. Ana, who consistently welcomed us warmly and made us feel very much at home. There is only one staff member who was rather unfriendly, but we did not encounter him often. It is also worth noting that finding parking outside the hotel was always easy and quick (We visited in August, and parking is free in Durango during this month.)
