Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI booked a room with a terrace. The view from it was not to Gaudi's Palace Güell which is okay, but it was to some junk yard of the house next door. It was just disgusting. No way we could spend time on that terrace. Also, there was no AC or ventilation in the staircase and hallway.
Good size room and very clean. Very good breakfast. The breakfast room has a very nice view of Gaudi's Palace Güell entrance. The roof top terrace was very nice too.

New ZealandNo walk-in shower. Cafeteria never open? Cleaners dominated the lifts in the morning, slowing lift use for customers.
Helpful staff. Ordered taxi seamlessly Terrace views outstanding. Great location next to La Rambla

United StatesThe cost of getting a room with 2 beds, when the occupants are not married I thought was excessive.
The room was simple but nice. WE did have a patio outside our room which was delightful. The elevator in the hotel was small. Only one person with large luggage could fit.

United KingdomThere was a slight issue with soot, we couldn't work out were it came from, but you did get some of it on your clothes, which was ok as long as you remembered just to blow it off and not rub it
We stayed for 5 nights on the roof top terrace, right next to the plunge pool area. Although we had a large terrace it was nice to be able to use the plunge pool terrace whenever we wanted. The view of the Gaudi hotel was really nice especially at night. The staff were excellent and the rooms were kept clean. There is only one other room on the floor so it was nice and private. We would definitely go back and have the same room again.

United KingdomDuring our stay one of the elevators broke which made moving up and down the building very slow. The chairs on the rooftop are also outdated and need some freshening up. Little insulation from the door meant you could hear everything going on in the hallways.
Convenient and comfortable hotel in the very heart of Barcelona's Ciutat Vella - walking distance from most spots you'd want to visit and easy access to transport links. Manned reception with friendly staff members, check-in was smooth and my room was available early. I was in one of the more outdated rooms of the hotel, but it was still comfortable and spacious, with a full bathroom incl tub. The roof terrace is a nice bonus for the views, with a tiny splashing strip of a 'pool'. The overall design feels quirky yet straightforward. The wi-fi also worked well.

United KingdomOur bedsheet appeared to have a makeup mark on it, but I didn’t notice until later our first evening before we even got into bed. The only mirror was in the bathroom. We stayed for 4 nights our room was not cleaned daily a cleaner came at 5pm on our 2nd day but we’re getting ready to go out so not convenient, it was cleaned the following day but that was the only time.
The best part was the lovely terrace which overlooked the Gaudí museum across the road. The room temperature was kept at a consistent nice level which was appreciated when coming in from 35 degrees. The room was nice, bed slightly hidden with a to on the wall. Spacious area upon entrance with a table & chair and large bathroom. Great location 2 minute walk to the main Las Ramblas.

United StatesIt felt somewhat industrial/sterile. Also, we had the hotel call a tax for us when we checked out, but we were not told it would be much more expensive than if we did ourselves. Also, the tax was very late.
The hotel was a great location for our needs. The room was clean, cool and the bedding & bed were great quality.

United KingdomIt was pretty expensive, but it was a prime location, and it was comparable to other hotels in the area.
The location was great-just off La Rambla and a stones throw from Placa Reial, which has such a great vibe! Our room was at the back, and although it wasn't particularly picturesque from the balcony, it was incredibly quiet, and we all slept really well. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. Leaving luggage was no problem, and very secure and also arranging an airport taxi.

United KingdomWe didn't have a great view from our balcony, but I believe you can request rooms with street views, or you can use the rooftop.
It's a great location just off the Rambla with a wonderful view of the roof of the Palau Guell, staff were friendly and helpful and on hand 24/7. Plus we had a balcony to sit out with a glass of wine, or we could always pop up to the rooftop bar and admire the views, there was also a small gym and a swallow plunge pool to cool off.

United KingdomLifts to floors bizarrely open to a small landing where you then need to take steps - which defeats the object of using a lift with luggage…
Stylish hotel very convenient location off Las Ramblas and close to the Gothic Quarter. Breakfast and room were lovely. Roof top view is good as it overlooks the Palau Güell mansion designed by Gaudi.

UkraineIt would be nice if instead of mini soap bars without a soap dish there were dispensers with liquid soap, or at least ordinary soap dishes.
Clean, pleasant and bright base room. The space turned out to be even a little more than in the photo, and a cute balcony, it was nice to stand there and watch the birds fly past you, in general, I liked everything! The presence of an air conditioner saved me in stuffiness and the common terrace with access to the roof is beautiful, the conference room has cool details and paintings, a lot of cool art books. I also want to note that despite the busy place, the room was quiet with the windows closed at night! Thank you for the place!
