Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAt checkout you need to review the room charges carefully. We had lots of drinks and room service which did add up but there were a couple of mistakes on the bill from wrongly added tabs. However the reception staff reviewed the scans and realised the mistake (8's look like 6's) and struck them. So this is not really a thing to dislike, just something to check. The hotel is in Benalup which is an hour from Cadiz. If you want to go out you need a car. Also there is no shop on site for supplies - this is a hotel not a resort.
Second time of visiting. Family of 4 stayed in a 2 bedroom family room for a week. Everything was perfect. We stayed half board and the breakfast and dinner selection of food was amazing. At breakfast all drinks are included (fresh orange, water, cava, coffee etc) but dinner they are chargeable but not excessive. Everything is so clean and well maintained. The staff are super polite and helpful. We were one of the very few English families at the hotel. Most were Spanish with some French but we made ourselves understood and there was never an issue. Dinner is a minor event in the evening with a themed buffet with a wide selection of foods. I like fish so in my week I had grouper, sea bream, swordfish and sea bass but my wife preferred the marinated pork and beef dishes. For younger folks or those wanting a plainer meal there was always pizza, chips and chicken. And then the desserts, the cheeses, the fresh melon slices.. I played 9 holes of golf one afternoon and a very poor amateur I was welcomed in the pro shop and had no issues renting clubs. Take your own glove, balls and tees unless you want to buy them on site. The 9 hole course was fun and not as narrow as some I've played. The pool area is lovely as are all the shared areas. We played a lot of cards in the library enjoying the view to the mountains in glorious air conditioned comfort! Cadiz is worth a visit (1 hour drive) as is the Mirador view over to Africa - an hour drive the other direction. You could easily stay in the hotel all week and just relax.

United KingdomIt definitely could do with a refresh and a few more finishing touches to make the rooms especially a bit more homely but really we have no serious concerns.
This is our 4th visit so that says it all. It’s a great location for a few amazing local restaurants. The hotel is calm and easy going. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast and the evening buffet are amazing value with a wonderful selection. The pool and pool restaurant and bar are terrific. We will definitely be back.

GibraltarMore food selection would be appreciated. Better method for keeping buffet food hot is a must as most of the food was cold on every serving. Comfortable kingsize bed, though pillows are slightly uncomfortable.

SpainCleaning can be improved. In the room we killed at least one small spider per day. In hoyo 19 in the afternoon the floor was always left dirty from lunch or spa vestuarios in the afternoon also quite dirty. We asked for a baby crib but was not safe for our baby as the mattress was smaller than the crib and also there were not fitted sheets for the mattress! There were a lot of stairs to get to our room and we had a stroller for the baby hence not ideal but I think rooms without stairs have no nice view.
Views are incredible. Golf court is super. Breakfast is very good. Staff in general super friendly mostly at Hoyo 19. Free drinks in the room and champagne attention for bday are a highlight.

United Kingdom- There are lots of steps. If you have mobility problems then beware that the terraces have lots of steps. - The indoor pool and spa is not included in the stay and has to be paid daily. The outdoor pool is very good. - Vegetarians would not find the food range as good as people who eat meat and fish. - Drinks at dinner are not free so budget about £7 a meal for 2 bottles of water. Drinks at breakfast are included.
We stayed at the hotel for 7 days in a 2 bedroom suite with the mountain view. We were a family of 4 and went half board. Everything about the hotel was wonderful. From the initial greeting by staff who directed us to the reception, the cool drink while we checked in and the fantastic rooms we stayed in. The hotel is like a small village with patios that step down the hillside to the pool below. Breakfast is a huge buffet with bread, pastries, meats, hot eggs and bacon, cereal and fruit. There is fresh squeezed orange, coffee and even Cava if you want a champagne breakfast. Dinner is also a buffet and each night is a theme with Mediterranean, Mexican, Spanish, fish etc. The fish night had grouper, 3 types of prawns and fresh fished cooked to order. Even on fish night there is always meat alternatives with pork or chicken or beef plus salads and cold meats. The food was absolutely lovely and I'm glad we paid for half board. You would have to be a very fussy eater not to find nice food to eat. We made use of the communal rooms like the library (no English books but card tables for us to play on) and the pool room with a full size pool table. All the communal rooms have air conditioning. Our suite was fantastic. A free mini bar on arrival (not refilled though) and a decent pod coffee machine. The room was cleaned every day and towels replaced. All the staff were very helpful and it is such a relaxing place to be. We will go back for sure either as a family or couple. I didn't play golf as I didn't take clubs but it looks lovely and did not seem busy when we were there. The hotel is out in the countryside with a town about a 5 minute drive. There is no need to venture out but if you want to then you will need a car. For English visitors in August you should note that most of other guests are Spanish. It is very much couples and families and very relaxed. It is not Brits abroad! The view of the mountains is so relaxing. The whole place is so relaxing,

United KingdomSadly the wonderful Spa was closed for maintenance, we were told but it was sadly missed. The rooms are very spacious but perhaps could do with a little TLC and some more accessories to make them a bit more cosy.
We love this hotel, it’s our 4th visit. It’s spacious, clean with great facilities and in a brilliant location. Close to Verjer, the beaches and some great restaurants. We will definitely be back again next year.
