Our party of 8 adult family members had a fun week but a few disappointments with the villa

It would have been very useful to have information about the villa and surrounding area in the villa in English, such as where the communal rubbish bins are, how to use the dishwasher, wifi password, when the gardener comes etc. The fifth bedroom wasn't made up on arrival. The information about local taxis that I asked for before we arrived was inaccurate. There was never any taxis at the taxi stand and we only managed to get a taxi on one occasion - usually they just hung up on us or ignored the call. As the villa is located up a very steep hill we had to hire a car. There wasn't an air conditioning unit in the bunk bed room and the unit in the master bed room stopped blowing out cold air. There was no hot water after we had all showered in the evening until 4pm the following day which is unacceptable. Pool was too small for the number of bedrooms. Very little shade. One large umbrella over some uncomfortable stone furniture that was too heavy to move. We had a power cut due to a switch tripping but the second fuse box was locked so we had to wait for someone to come and open it. Towards the end of our stay, water started pouring into the utility room so we were unable to use the room and the hot water dwindled to a trickle. The en-suite bathroom could do with refurbishment..

Spacious, clean villa on two levels and the master bedroom had an ensuite. Nice outside terrace for eating. Situated on a dead-end road which was quiet but the road on the other side of the villa was quite noisy - to be expected in August. The villa was clean and the managing agent responded fairly quickly and politely. La Herradura is a lovely town with mainly Spanish tourists so the food in the many local restaurants was really good and well-priced. Could always get a sun lounger on the beach and the banana boat and inflatable assault course were fun. The beach by the Marina was smaller and quieter. The Marina was lovely and there were a couple of good restaurants there too.
