Toilet was squeezed into the bathroom under an overhead beam which was a bit of a hazard for the taller folk.

Having dining and grocery facilities located downstairs was really handy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was tidy.

The room was bright and spacious with a magnificent view of the mountain. Everything was spotlessly clean, the beds are high and comfy, the bed line - snow white and freshly pressed. Bathroom is big and has all the amenities and the towels are thick and luxurious. We were welcomed and pampered throughout our stay, coffee and food is delicious! Wish all places on the Camino were like this…

A beautiful room in a really lovely little hotel. The host was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was closed the night we were there. But we were able to join the pilgrim's dinner at the hostel a few doors down, which provided excellent food and great company. We loved the short walk to the Cruz de Ferro the next morning. I would really recommend staying here on your Camino.

This property is an oasis in an interesting little town before the Cruz de Ferro. The room was comfortable and the shower was nice and powerful. The best part was the food. I had a hankering for a steak and they made me an incredible meal. I don’t even know if it was on the menu. You could tell these guys had a full exhaustive day but that didn’t affect the excellent personal service that I received. Going foreword, I will always stay here when on the Camino.

Everything was excellent about this stay! Our favorite stay on the Camino. Hospitality amazing, food was excellent, stay was clean, host were cheerful & greeted us with Lemonade after a hot day on the trail. It would be a mistake to stay anywhere but here when passing through Foncebadón.

There was a sewer smell coming out of the shower drain. I also hit my head several times on the low wooden beams but that’s probably no one’s fault but my own.

These were a few of the kindest hosts we experienced on the Camino. They were thoughtful, sweet and helpful. The room was clean. I loved the period a fan. I wish more albergues had fans.

What a special place. Not only are all standard needs met re:lodging and meals, but the special touches (THE best towels, embroidered logos on towels and bedding a classy touch, very tasty food) makes El Trasgu such a unique place. The entire lodging area speaks of care and love of family. While the physical accommodations couldn’t have been any better, it was the atmosphere of welcome and individual attention that was at the heart of the establishment.

The warmth of the hosts made this place. The hotel is beautiful and well appointed with all that you could need. But what made it special was the kind hosts who did everything from a personal check in to making excellent drinks and a yummy breakfast. A fantastic Camino stop.

We are so happy that we stayed here on The Camino. The room was extremely clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower was good. We agree with another review - the plush towels were a welcome change. We were on the top floor, and opening the skylights a bit made AC completely unnecessary. Everyone on staff was welcoming and helpful. A highlight was dinner. The salad with tuna and egg was good, the octopus was smoky and perfectly done, and the solomillo was the best we’ve had on The Camino. Their onsite tienda made our stay even more comfortable, with wine & snacks available.

This is a fantastic stop on the Camino. You could stop before the climb, but don't, the extra effort is worth it. The place is looked after by the hardest working team I have come across on the Camino. They were there when we arrived in the early afternoon. They were still on duty when we went to bed. They were there looking after breakfast when we got up in the morning. Not alone do they have a great menu, they have a shop that covers probably all essentials for the Camino. The room was very nice and clean. Very comfortable bed. I haven't even mentioned the view looking back down towards where you have walked from. I highly recommend this place.
