We booked this last minute and it was the most affordable place we could find and it was still outrageously expensive. We found Barcelona to be way too crowded, dirty, hot, and way overpriced. We will not be returning, at least not in high season. Although our taxi driver told us that it's like that all year. I can see why they are protesting against tourists! We went to check out a soccer academy for our son, otherwise I would've skipped Barcelona.

After reading the bad reviews I thought this place would be an expensive dump but it was actually not bad at all. Maybe they renovated it but our triple room on the 4th floor was spacious and had a nice balcony that overlooked the plaza. We enjoyed watching performers from our balcony and there were several good restaurants in the plaza below and a medieval church. It's also very close to the centro, buses, and subway. We went in Aug. and the AC was great! I'm claustrophobic and I could not bring myself to get into that tiny elevator but the floors are really every half level, so taking the stairs to the 4th floors wasn't bad at all. My sister stayed on the 8th floor and that wasn't bad either because it's really like the 4th floor. But if you are not keen on tiny elevators and can't do stairs, you might want to look elsewhere.

You can hear everything in the hallway from your room. Some units do not have windows and the ones that do open into small atriums.

Receptionist (during check out, 10th july morning) was so untrusted and rude. When i said HOLA, he just looked at my face and didnt say any reply. When i Said BYE, he just looked at my face and didnt say any reply too.

Location is so good. Thanks to receptionist when checkin on 8 th july 11pm. He was very helpfull and sympatic. Hotel is near to gotic area and you can easily reach to plaza de catalunya and sea side by short walking.

Shower screen should have been longer or fully closed as after the shower water was all over the bathroom. Be prepared to carry your luggage up the staircase to the reception.

Location was great, right in the center, just a 5 min slow walk from the metro. Despite it was noisy outside and people were very loud in cafes on the street, room was quiet! Great view, very romantic and European. Staff was helpful and friendly. We could leave our luggage at the reception area and come back later before our flight.

Wi-fi was weak and inadequate (we were on the 4th floor). I wish there was a small fridge in the room. It's 30+ degrees Celsius outside (in the summer) and you want to keep fruits and/or liquids in your room, but you can't...

The only negative point is that there’s no elevator to reach the reception. There is one for the rooms, but you have to use the stairs to get to the reception, which is difficult if you have luggage.

The location makes this an amazing find to stay in the Gothic area. It is embedded in narrow winding streets with restaurants everywhere. The room was small but clean and we had a small balcony door to open and look out of. It is an easy walk anywhere in the gothic area - 10 mins to Cathedral, wharf.

The location is excellent: at walking distance to many interesting locations of Barcelona. The room was a great value-money deal. I was well informed on the type of room I booked so I was not disappointed with the backyard facing window-on the contrary, it exceeded my expectations.

Not sure if it’s mentioned in booking but the elevation was only going down to the 1st floor instead of ground floor. There’s a historic reason behind that so can’t complain, but didn’t know until I arrived. The room was pretty small for 2 people, yet fine for a few days :)

The location was pretty good, the staff were friendly and the reception was open 24/7. also in the nearby squares there were always flea markets taking place with artists and local products - but wasn’t noisy at all!

Our first room 66 smelled like sewage. The reception man instantly gave us another room.
