Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandIssues with cost and range of what was available at breakfast - minimal as 'inclusive' B/B rate. Long wait times for breakfast as generally only one staff doing all the work.
The hotel itself was quaint and charming, rooms were spacious and clean. The location was superb, rural, with a view of the ocean from our bedroom. It was a pleasant walk to the beach and into the village. The lady that greeted us at reception on arrival was very pleasant, informative and personable. There was one extremely busy lady (staff) in the breakfast room , setting and clearing tables, taking orders, serving; she did this pretty much on her own, and always with greetings and good grace. Free on-site parking a bonus.

The place is really exceptional. The hotel is really very nice and very well located in Pechon. The rooms are comfortable with a great view to the Ocean. Breakfast is good and with a lot of choice. The staff was very friendly and always available to answer any question or give advice.

PortugalThe bathrooms can be renovated.
This property is great value for money. Nice staff, good location near the beach and in a small village. The rooms are clean. They offer a good breakfast. There are several restaurants near the hotel. I think the rating of this propriety is higher than the current one. For a 2 star hotel, it is an excelente choice.

United KingdomIt's a shame to have to highlight what wasn't good as we had such a good holiday but in hindsight and with now knowing more about the area we would have benefited from another hotel. In the hotel we had a family room that was meant to cater for 3 people but we struggled with the room size and bathroom. There was very little room to fit the beds in the room which meant to open the velux doors for light or access to the balcony was really difficult. The bathroom was one of the smallest I'd ever seen and having a shower meant most things got wet. In the end we spent very little time in the hotel as t was not a relaxing space. But I must say Cantabria was fantastic and exceeded our expectations as a holiday destination. From the scenery, culture and people. As I said above it's a shame to highlight what wasn't good as we all enjoyed this holiday and the hotel was such a small part of it that it didn't distract from our enjoyment
The location of the hotel was great for access to the beach and some great scenery. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast were good. I would like to highlight that the breakfast staff were particularly helpful and welcoming.

SpainThe charge for my small yorkie was €25. Given that they did nothing to help his stay, its profiteering to appear to be pet friendly to earn a premium to the rate of 30%. The room was ok but tiny. This didnt bother me but might others
Clean and well presented. The breakfast staff were lovely and despite having to exclude my little dog, tried hard to find a solution on the terrace.

United KingdomBreakfast was chaotic. There seems to be a big problem with management at this hotel. Breakfast was very simple (toast, coffee and orange juice) and could have been overseen by one person but nobody was taking charge or responsibility for delivering it. The photos on this site are out of date as they show a buffet breakfast. This would actually have been much better as people could have helped themselves, but instead we had to find a table (when often none were available as they had not been cleared) and wait for our order to be taken, then wait for our food. People were not served in order, etc. On the third day, we waited half an hour at an uncleared table. The young man serving said he would deal with it but never did completely and never took our order, despite serving other people. We were sure there was no malice intended but he just didn't have any system for serving people. Meanwhile there were varioius other staff milling in and out and not doing anything to help the one person who was serving. The member of staff who dealt with us during check in was around, but she wasn't doing anything either. She seemed rather miserable. Or angry. She wasn't very friendly. They need some proper management at this place. In contrast, the staff, service and food at the place opposite, Parilla El Fogon, were excellent. Don Pablo could learn a lot from them.
Location was great.

United KingdomIt is an old building with wooden floors so unfortunately at night it was quite noisy with people moving next to our room on the wooden staircase. You could also hear doors in other rooms etc. this was easily remedied with some earplugs so it wasn’t a problem but good to come prepared.
Lovely building in an amazing location near to beautiful beaches and good restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff.

SpainI decided to take my mother and friend for a weekend trip, away from the busy and stressful city life. The trip was truly remarkable and enjoyable. A huge factor of this trip's success was Don Pablo, located in such a beautiful village (Pechón) with extremely friendly locals and can't forget the beautiful scenery and beaches that are a few minutes walking distance. I highly recommend planning and choosing Don Pablo for your next trip to the Northern part of Spain. First, you will be welcomed by an extremely friendly staff, and you will also get to visit and see the most beautiful scenery in North of Spain and you can explore nearby towns and finally relax in their comfy, clean beds.

United KingdomFriendly staff on arrival. Room smelt damp and fausty. No extractor fan in the bathroom. Room was on ground floor at the very entrance to the building, but fortunately other guests were quiet. Opening the window for air (it was hot/no air conditioning) on the ground floor meant you could hear people chatting right outside the room. If you stay here, ensure you ask for room on upper floors and check room first. A pleasant stay with clean, comfortable beds.

United StatesOur first room had an exterior door which was our only ventilation when open. We left it slightly open and 3 times people entered our room at night! We changed rooms which was better but was over the sitting area which was very noisy until 1 or 2 in the morning The walls of both rooms were paper thin…a very noisy place to stay

SpainWe waited ages for breakfast as there were just 2 people serving and clearing tables. On both mornings around 30 minutes. Other customers had the same wait. I told the hotel they need to employ more staff to serve breakfast as this was taking time out of our holiday. A buffet system would have worked better.
The location is great and we had a lovely sea view from our room. The style of the hotel is relaxed and pleasant and the staff friendly.
