Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis is a beautiful small hotel where the staff make you feel like guests rather than customers. The room was very comfortable with amazing views to 3 sides. The food was beyond all of our expectations. This is a hidden gem and we felt very lucky to stay. The owners have clearly given a lot of thought to detail and were incredibly welcoming.

United KingdomNothing - it is the perfect holiday destination
The property is absolutely beautiful both inside and out with every aspect carefully curated to transport guests to another era. We felt we could relax the moment we arrived. All meals were delicious, the wine list itself being worthy of mention. We enjoyed sitting by the pool in the sunshine, reading in the courtyard to the sound of the water fountains, snuggling by the fire after dinner on cooler evenings (October) and cycling through the surrounding olive groves. Silvia, Eilko and staff are wonderful - thank you so much for your hospitality.

United KingdomI struggle to think of anything because it was all so perfect. The fixed evening menu might be the only thing as it didn't necessarily cater to our taste but this is very personal and the staff and owners were so kind in offering an alternative option for the vegetarian dish on discovering that I was not keen on the set option - I felt this act of care went above and beyond and showed the level of importance the owners regard ensuring each guest feels seen, nurtured and made welcome.
Turning the final corner as you wind your way up the hill on a virtually pristine road you come across the most beautiful vision - the Cortio is a creation of lovingly restored historic buildings which the owners have brought to life to create a sanctuary of peaceful & luxurious repose. The entire place is utterly stunning without being pretentious and it feels tranquil and welcoming from the moment you step through the secret entrance and are greeted by an imposing ancient wooden gateway. The arrival is made all the more special by the hosts warm welcome. We adored the melodic sounds of the fountains in the courtyard where you can while away hours in comfortable repose and enjoy a good selection of refreshments. We particularly liked the separation of seating areas catering well for non-smokers. Our room was spacious, the shutters made it perfectly dark for blissful sleep and the bed was extremely comfortable with high quality linens and it had the most fabulous and spacious shower. I must mention the warm and friendly staff though who made our stay so relaxing and pleasant. There is just the appropriate amount of attention without it being over-done and all the staff were genuinely warm, friendly and helpful. It is no wonder that guests return again and again. We would love to go back in the future.

SpainReally nothing, saying something negative for the sake of it would feel petty.
Stunning old country house in the middle of a huge olive grove in the hills above Granada is a joy to behold. Full of authentic character and run with wonderful care and attention to guests by the owners Silvia and Eliko. The set dinner was delicious, as was breakfast, and it's incredibly good value too. Our room was an enormous old stable.

United KingdomIt could be nice to have an option other than a set menu for supper.
The staff were so friendly, they made us feel at home. It is so peaceful and I think we were lucky that it wasn't too full, so it was quiet and we could always find space by the pool. The setting is really wonderful and the food was delicious.

United StatesDown the road, no pun intended, it would be nice to have a more formal map, maybe with distances, for suggested walks around and through the olive orchard.
Exceptional meals (including breakfast), bucolic peaceful setting, fabulous support for questions about activities, beautiful walks directly from the property, easy access to Grenada, accurate signage to the property, and lovely historic buildings. During our visit in the spring, the poppies in the fields were in full bloom, providing incredible views of the countryside. We would love to return!

United KingdomThe Cortijo del Marques is an absolute gem hidden in the Spanish hills surrounded by Olive trees. We stayed at the « Silo ». The room with a « flat screen »: an outstanding view of the landscape without any modern signs of civilisation. A truly unique and mesmerising experience! The whole stay is an actual experience. Dinner at night is a Michelin starred standard for 35€! Wine list: outstanding (in quality and fair priced). We could not recommend more this experience and we will certainly be back!
