Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomTrack off the main road to Catifalarga can be a bit tricky to navigate but the rental car survived 😊
Rural location, comfortable room, the nice pool was very welcome in the heat! Outdoor space, great views across the valley, Anna and Enrique are friendly and helpful owners who took care of us on arrival and were on hand for queries and recommendations.

NorwayWe have had a wonderful week at Casa Rural Carifalarga! It is a most amazing place to stay, situated just above Capileira. With beatiful views, on a clear day all across the Mediterranean, quiet and tranquil, it is a perfect place to stay wether you want to go hiking in Sierra Nevada as we did, or jiust explore the several beatiful nearby villages. The rooms are nice, with a rustic touch, we had a wonderful terrace. The homemade breakfasts.was our favorites, as was also a swim in the pool returning from long hikes. The only "noise" was birds singing! The hospitality and friendlyness of the owners, Enrique and Anna certainly made our stay specially nice. Short way down to several restaurants in Capileira the nights we did not enjoy the tasty, several course honemade dinner from their kitchen.

United KingdomThe property was absolutely beautiful, rustic and quirky and our lovely room also had a large terrace, which had the most stunning mountain and sea views in the far distance! You could even see Morocco on a clear day just before sunset. The hosts, Enrique & Anna were absolutely charming and such talented chefs! The breakfasts were all homemade and delicious, especially the home baked bread and the delicious variety of homemade jams. The 4 course evening meal, freshly prepared was exceptional with exquisite flavours. We had the Prawn and Octopus Risotto, which Enrique cooked to perfection, (no surprise coming from Valencia!) The mountain villages of the Alpujarra are all beautiful, perched high on the mountain cliffs and lovely to visit and wander around and there are also some incredible mountain walks in the area. We loved our stay here and normally stay in 5 star hotels in cities in Europe or in the Paradores in Spain but can recommend this beautiful property just as highly!! Thank you so much Enrique & Anna - you are both wonderful hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you!!

United KingdomSwimming pool wasn't available to use due to cleaning - which was part of our reason for booking this property.
Lovely staff who were very attentive and prepared a light but delicious breakfast. Location is beautiful but be prepared for the walk up the hill (approx 8mins walk from the main road which goes through Capileira - unless you're in a car).

United StatesThe hotel is around 500m outside of Capileira in a quiet, beautiful countryside. Access is a bit difficult at the moment due to rough road conditions. The room was charmingly rustic. Enrique, the owner is an excellent source for finding out anything about the area, the local vegetation, recommendations for restaurants.

LatviaWe had a room with a terrace, the mountain view was just spectacular. Dinner which was made specially for us was 1000+ out of 10. Delicious breakfast from local products. Close to Capileira town and hiking distances up on the mountains. If you are booking magical stay there, be prepared of the roads, but it’s totally worth it!

SpainThe rugged steep dirt road takes a bit of getting used to.
Serenity, vista, clarity of air, cool Fresh mountain water, breakfasts with homemade jams and breads, amazing 4 course dinner ( not offered every night), warm and friendly reception by Annie and Enrique for whom nothing was too much trouble, including for our dog. This was the more so when we learned that sadly they lost their own dog just a month ago.

United StatesThere is nothing about the property to register any complaint about.
This place was so incredibly tranquil! After spending about a week in the bigger cities, this was the perfect place to recharge our batteries. The views were great (especially from our private patio); the pool was extraordinarily refreshing; the hike down to town was just what the doctor ordered to get a sense of the area; the hike up into the mountains on our second day was wonderful. Our hosts could not have been more helpful, friendly, courteous, and welcoming.

SwedenWelcoming host with a great command of English. The property is on the hill, which requires some walking to be done towards the village, travelling by car is recommended, but walk is a short. The views from the terrace were beautiful. Breakfast was good and there was an option for dinner as well at a reasonable price. The apartments are not heated and as we stayed in winter we were provided with heater, which was plenty enough given warm blankets.
