Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainWe could have used a blanket for the bed. We were only covered in one thin sheet. We looked for a blanket but there was none in the room. Running the ac all night was the only option in the 30 degree night time heat as the window, when opened had no mosquito screens. So we could not open the window without insects coming in, and therefore had to run the ac all night and were quite cold. At 03.00 in the morning we threw large dry towels on top of us to try to stay warm. We only stayed one night. If we had stayed longer we would have asked at reception for a blanket. It did not upset our stay much and we would stay again.
Our stay was wonderful. Everything was magical. The view from the bedroom is staggeringly romantic and expansive. The room was huge and with a high ceiling. The ac worked well when we were there in the heat of July. The evening meal at the restaurant a 2 min walk up through the little castle village was a lovely experience. Food was delicious and good sized portions with very pleasant service. Make sure you don't miss seeing the amazing view from the very top of the hotel, only available to you if you are guests! Breakfast has plenty of options and the staff are very nice.

NetherlandsBig comfortable rooms with amazing rooms of the area. Wonderful to wander the narrow streets, and just sit to watch the vultures, surrounding countryside and sunset. The castle interior area is small so you have seen it all after less than half an hour, but it is also worth walking around the castle, walking down to the old Roman road. We have stayed here 3 times, arriving in the afternoon to enjoy a one-night stay to unwind.

Fantastic hotel with unique charm and soul, located within a castle. Getting there at night was quite an adventure due to the winding road, but during the day it’s a completely different experience – much easier and absolutely worth it thanks to the stunning views along the way. You can’t drive right up to the hotel entrance – parking is available along the road. When you reach the castle, you’ll first see the main square, but the entrance isn’t there. Keep to the right, and the second entrance is the correct one. We arrived around midnight and were a bit confused, but a friendly local named “Frog” kindly helped us find the right way. The peace and calmness of the village fill you with a special kind of energy. The views from the hotel are incredible – Gibraltar, Mount Jebel Musa in Morocco, Embalse del Guadarranque lake, the fairytale-like village, and the surrounding forest. Our room was very spacious and equipped with everything we needed – comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully arranged to match the charm of the place. My partner and I took some time to explore and hiked down to the lake. The trail isn’t marked, but it’s pleasant and relatively easy to follow. Just be careful in some areas where fallen leaves can make it slippery. Proper footwear is a must (trainers are fine) – definitely no flip-flops or light summer shoes. We brought water and some snacks and enjoyed peaceful moments by the small dock, watching birds, horses, deer, and nature itself. If you enjoy hiking, I highly recommend it. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection of cold cuts, spreads, fruit, and more. If you’re looking for a relaxed escape from the hustle and bustle, I highly recommend this hotel. The staff is friendly and happy to help with anything.

Enjoyed dinner at the town Restaurant and a picturesque walk. All staff that we encountered were courteous and helpful as well. *Don't miss a visit to the rooftop of the castle for incredible pics of surrounding landscapes stretching out to Gibraltar on the coast! LatviaOur trip through Andalusia was incredible, and staying at the castle was without a doubt the highlight. The entire property was spotless, and the breakfast was delicious, served with stunning views that made morning special. The soundproofing is excellent you truly feel like you’re in your own peaceful world once you’re in your room. The beds were extremely comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. We also enjoyed a lovely walk around the castle grounds in the morning, which added to the magical experience. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a unique and relaxing stay!

Bonus was the beautiful area surrounding the castle and a short scenic walk on an historic path to the lake.

IsraelThe hotel is actually a renovated 11 century castle, with preserved castle rooms - castle windows, balconies, high ceilings. You sleep in a real castle, it's so romantic and really rare. The price for a night is 1/10 of a price for a night in a Scottish castle. The room was very clean and the views of the lake and the valley from the windows were incredible. We had dinner in the restaurant 1 min walk from the castle, the price is not cheap but the food is good. We were with a teen girl, ordered a Superior room and asked to add a bed.

FranceThe only slight niggle, barely worth a mention, was that the separate hotel restaurant in the village did not have a coffee machine and we had to return to the hotel bar for an after dinner coffee… it really was not a problem but was perhaps a bit odd! I am struggling to find fault really!
The situation on this hotel, part of a medival castle in a small hilltop village, is simply stunning. The views from the top are just incredible. Within the curtain walls of the castle is a small village in which some of the houses have been converted into self catering units which I believe are run by the hotel too. There is also an associated restaurant where we ate in the evening which was very good. Our room was very comfortable, we chose the one with the terrace at the top of the watchtower and while the room itself did not really have a fabulous view, it was more than made up for by the stunning roof top terrace. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom spacious.

CanadaEven though there was an elevator, it only went from the lobby to the 1 floor rooms. We originally had an incredible deluxe tower room with access to the top, but because of my mobility issues I could not manage the multiple stairs . Even to get from parking to the lobby was a very steep walk. This is only a problem for some with mobility issues.
Delicious breakfast, nice variety, well worth the money. Authentically restored castle. Staff were very accommodating when we had to change our room. Overall delightful experience.

It´s a special place to stay. Winding road to the castle and amazing 360 views to accompany in the morning. Cute little castle streets and very peaceful.
