Great location if you want to go for a day trip to Tangier. Close to the port in Tarifa.

1) very small and impractically positioned TV 2) there was a bit of a smell in the main area, but no big deal if the windows are open most the time (not sure how it would feel with windows closed though, e.g. in spring or fall)

We came in late June/early July, during the heat wave, but the temperatures were pleasant both during the day and night (10 to 15 C lower than in other parts of spain at the same time) , attributable probably to its location (relatively close to the strait of gibraltar and in the forest)... Fairly sized pool with shallow and deep end (although if I'm not mistaken one must go back to his/her cabin for toilet, but the cabins are not far away).... Located in the forest, cabins are surrounded with greenery of all kinds, very peaceful, natural vibes.... All windows have mosquito nets so you can have fresh air circulating all the time....

I probably should have read and researched more before booking and I should have briefed my wife more thoroughly! For example, we didn't check that dinners were not available so on the first evening we didn't know where to go to eat. However, once established we enjoyed either eating in our cabin or going to the nearby village. It would be good to have some written instructions/assistance in English - and it would be easy to do.

Our cabin had a lovely location and was well fitted out. The swimming pool was great. Karin and Elena were very welcoming and helpful. It was a great base for our birding expeditions and thoroughly recommended.

Everything was great

The host was amazing, the house very welcoming and well equipped in a beautiful location among olive trees with an easy access to major highways and about an hour drive to Granada, Malaga and Cordoba.

Due to last minute travel and not being a confident driver abroad I had to use the bus stop to travel. I would recommend future guests to ensure they have a vehicle or transport arranged while staying here, it is a fantastic base for all sorts of activities but more suited for those with their own transport.

Tucked away and private, hosts where very nice and welcoming, really enjoyed chatting to them in the mornings over a coffee. Amazing wildlife everywhere, my cabin was perfectly sized and comfortable. Fast internet.

Everything, the place, the cabin and the silent. If you have dogs is also ideal because you can go for walks in a beautiful area. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Getting out of the property to head in the direction of Tarifa was very complicated and not all too safe. No laundry facilities in the cabin or in the hotel as far as I know.

Nice large grounds with plenty of birds and nice vegetation. Nice cabins with good kitchen facilities. Good Wifi. Nice pool although we did not use it. Some trails through the property.

We were staying in the Commander's House, a typical Andalucian house surrounded by cork forest.. It was next to the swimming pool (not open in March) with a large shaded garden and seating area outside. The house was very comfortable and would be a cool haven in the hot summer months. We had travelled to this area to photograph bird migrations from Africa and we were made to feel very welcome. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful and even gave us free coffee at the little cafe on the first day as a welcome gift. The area is full of birds - on the feeders and flying overhead. We also followed a beautiful path through the corkwoods towards the sea and with views over Gibraltar in one direction and Africa the other. This is a wonderful area for birdwatching and you can be sure of a friendly welcome if you stay here.
