The water in the shower drained slowly while using. My room’s shower drain may have been overdue for maintenance. Otherwise I liked my room, it came with a little balcony with a lovely view of the charming streets behind the hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay at Catalonia Atocha! My room was very clean and comfortable. The location was ideal for me as well - it was a bit of a distance away from the hustle and bustle of touristy centers, so it was not as crowded nor busy. However, the train station was less than a 5-min walk from the hotel and most points of interests were 2-3 train stops away. Retiro Park was also about a 10-min walk from the hotel, and there are plenty of restaurants/cafes in the neighborhood.

Staff were excellent. Breakfasts were outstanding. The in house 'cafeteria' restaurant was disappointing though staff were great. My wife had an 8oth birtheday during our stay and the hotel nade sure that it was special. Handy for a wide range of restaurants in the evenings and for major attractions during the day.

More seats and beds are required on the terrace. Frequently, we would go up to the terrace to sunbathe or to have a drink and there was nowhere to sit and it wasn't even that busy - just not many seats. More bar staff needed too on the terrace. Hotel restaurant has no atmosphere so we always went out to eat.

Hotel is decorated beautifully and is very clean. I have stayed here many times over the years. It's in a great location and staff are nice.

Small details in the room could be better. Unstable bathroom floor, big rip in bedroom curtain, pen mark on the bed sheet.

The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, the cosmetics in the room including hand soap and shower gel were very good compared to the ones we usually got in other hotels. Overall is a very nice hotel and we will be back for sure if we will visit Madrid again.

The drinks in the attached restaurant was a bit too expensive.

I liked the amazing breakfast! The location was perfect. We walked to just about everything. Nice plazas too grab a bite to eat and have an afternoon cocktail only 2 blocks away.

I cannot say I did not like. I can use this form : I would prefere that the bed bedding should be not fixed at the margins of the bed. I had " to fight each evening" to skip in the bed.

Small room with minimal space. There was very little clearance, between the desk/table and the bed. The heavy chair by the desk made access to one side of the bed impossible without moving the chair or climbing onto the bed. Unable to access any English channels on the TV.

Appreciated the pleasant and positive check in experience from the staff at the front desk. Extremely clean, very new, and well maintained facilities. Excellent breakfast. The breakfast staff refill every container immediately. Great selection and variety of foods. Lovely breads, omelettes, grilled vegetables, and good fresh fruit. Close to the main train station, public transit, and in easy walking distance to main sights. Quick elevators without the need to wait. Cleaning staff did an excellent job daily. Quiet room with satisfactory air conditioning.
