How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewOutstanding visit, the perfect place. We loved the village of Alquézar…its one of the most unique and pleasant villages we’ve ever experienced. Make sure to do breakfast and don’t drive into the village…park at the top and walk down to get your bearings

Verified reviewThe Location of the hotel whilst difficult of access with a car is absolutely glorious in terms of views . The staff particularly the breakfast waitresses where very friendly .
No drinks in the room , no tea or coffee , not even a bottle of water ! Also the bed does not have a duvet . it was clean and comfortable but a bit chilly had to search the blanket. Breakfast is cheap but a bit mean . Had to ask each morning for an extra cup of coffee . However it is all served at the table but there is not much ! However for the price of 7;50 E it is fine . Maybe charge more and provide more ?

Verified reviewI loved the furniture decor and the incredible view of the castle from the balcony. A Romantic location to stay and be transported back to the 16th century.
The breakfast was too limited they should include omelets not just meat.

Verified reviewThe location. The view.
Had one issue when it rained and the water leaked in through the windows but it was easy enough to dry up with the towels. Getting to the hotel with luggage is a bit difficult. There is no easy way to pull up in the car and drop bags off and it’s a bit of a walk from the parking areas.

Verified reviewReception is off the very narrow, but, beautiful street. A doorbell to call a member of staff. Once in you are given a code for the electronic sliding doors. Reception is small, but, clean and tidy. A glass floor over a feature is nice. My bedroom was very smart. Split level for anyone with mobility issues. The toilet down five stairs. The bed is a big double and firm to hard. The linen is white, clean and crisp. Two bedside tables with lamps. A small two seater sofa and table up and a fridge and desk and chair down. Tele. It’s a beautiful room. The shower room is lovely and clean with a good sized cabinet. A twin headed shower. Plenty of hot water if you leave it long enough. Towels are fluffy and white and monogrammed. Don’t take one it’s 29€? Little bottles of shower gel provided with a small bar of hand soap. Big mirror and shaving/make up mirror. Small window with a view! The room has a balcony. Despite there being three other balconies in close proximity it felt private. The two closest balconies have frosted glass screens. You have to lean out to see onto the others! As I type ten Griffon Vultures are thermaling literally 20 feet above my balcony! My balcony has a fantastic view of the Colegiata de Santa Maria la Mayor; beautiful. The village is beautiful. The area stunning. Lots of bars, restaurants and places to sit and drink. It is a wonderful place and a ‘must’ visit. The host and his mum (?) are pleasant and helpful, but, not always there. You have to go outside to ring the bell. By which time the electric doors have shut and you have to pin yourself back in. A bell on reception would be better. Breakfast was OK. Nice ingredients. Not included in the price!
It’s not cheap and when I asked if there should have been a couple of complimentary bottles of water in the fridge he said ‘No. We are a small hotel’. I could buy one from the shop next door. When I asked if they provided a complimentary shaving kit he said I could buy one from the shop next door. They run/own the shop next door! It’s not cheap and no water in the fridge is remiss. I got two shaving kits in a cheaper hotel in Huesca; no problem. No restaurant. They are a small hotel and not cheap, but, just about good value. It’s smart, quiet and beautiful.

Verified reviewEverything was perfect. The village, the room, the views from the balcony. They even had an elevator in this hotel built on the old walls! Exceptional!
This is being really knit picky but given the lack of open restaurants / cafes in off season, a little coffee maker would be amazing, especially in the mornings (we aren't breakfast people).
