The property and accommodation were all in very good condition and all very clean. The lady running the hotel was very pleasant and helpful. The room was comfortable and we both slept ok with good air conditioning as we were there in a heatwave. All in all a good stay in a nice hotel.

Had a wonderful rooftop room with private terrace - great for swallow fly-bys and coffee or wine. Real boutique property in Old bulding Close to the Old centre. Beautifully designed with creative flourish and thoughtful touches like water and hot drink stations. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were great. Highly recommended.

Authentic Spanish style hotel, excellent location with only a 5 minute walk to two historic plazas. Excellent and helpful staff. She was very friendly. Free on-street parking was close by. There was a well prepared continental breakfast.

Loved everything! The owner went above and beyond, picking us up at the train station at the last minute because there were no taxis available. She also made sure that we had a taxi the next morning to transport our luggage to the next destination of our Camino. The hotel itself is super sweet and comfortable, feels like you are entering a hideaway for pampering yourself. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Fantastic accommodation in this pretty town. Gorgeous decor with an arty, bohemian vibe. The room was light, bright and airy. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Parking is on street but was easy to navigate.

The owner surprised us by collecting us from the bus and dropped us back to the bus station. He showed us briefly the sights to see as we were there only one night. Centrally located with easy parking, Casa Ruy Lopez was a pleasant place to stay. It was cosy, tastefully decorated with a comfortable bed in a very clean room. We received a warm welcome (despite arriving at the wrong time) and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. At breakfast, in the charming, small dining room, there was a good choice of food with excellent service.

Evertything was perfect!

After a long rainy drive from Lisbon we arrived at this quiet (even during the Carnaval weekend) and perfectly located hotel (within a 5 minute walk you’re in the main plaza). The small hotel does not have parking but we easily parked nearby. We had a warm welcome by the nice girl at reception desk who was very helpful providing us with a map and hints and tips on where to go. Our room was number six, with a balcony overlooking the small street. The room just like all the hotel spaces was extremely clean, spacious and equipped with AC. Throughout Casa Ruy Lopez the attention to detail goes above and beyond the decoration (that we loved): there are complimentary small water bottles at room temperature and in mini fridges in common areas or if you prefer you can make different types of tea (there’s an electrical kettle), or you can have water with lemon. Breakfast was very good, a large variety of products including homemade cakes and jams, and the nice and helpful staff always asks if you’d also like toast or anything else. The location is perfect making it a great base for exploring the area (don’t miss Mina de la Jayona, Virgen del Ara and the roman ruins of Regina Turdulorum if you can). The small entrance of Casa Ruy Lopez is only a clue for what it hides inside: a delightful place to stay. Would certainly return and recommend it!
