How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Elena is an exceptional gracious host, hospital, generous of her time. Helps with luggage and also taxi services. The property is immaculate and well maintained.

Elena showed us such kindness and hospitality when my Mum and I stayed at her accommodation, whilst walking the Pamplona to Logroño stretch of the Camino Frances. We had a very tiring day and were very grateful to be offered lovely rooms and drinks for the evening. We'd definitely be happy to stay again, and if anyone is looking for accommodation in the Obanos area - for the Camino or otherwise - we recommend this place highly.

Elena is a very warm and friendly host. She explained everything about the house and answered every question. My room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. Elena prepared a delicious communal dinner and it was nice meeting fellow pilgrims on the Camino.

Everything was perfect!

Most wonderful, attentive host I’ve encountered on the Camino! She is an amazing cook, too, and the dinner she prepared for us was spectacular and perfectly suited for a pilgrim (salad, pasta with meat sauce, local dessert, tea). It has been my favorite hostel so far — I recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Elena (the host) was fantastic. She made a great dinner & great breakfast. The room & bathroom were spotless. It was very hot when we were there, so we didn't use the outdoor patio; but we did sit out a short while in the morning & it was very comfortable. Definitely recommend.

Wonderful Stay – Like Visiting Family! We had an amazing experience here. The place was spotless, cozy, and incredibly comfortable — clearly cared for with love and attention to detail. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the host. We arrived in the evening, tired and hungry, with no open restaurants nearby. She stayed just for us and prepared a delicious homemade dinner that felt like it came from a top restaurant. It was warm, generous, and exactly what we needed. Throughout our stay, she treated us like family — always kind, helpful, and full of heart. If you’re looking for a place that’s not only clean and comfortable, but also full of soul, this is the one.

That we only could stay for one night!
Elena made us feel at home. She has humor and is an exceptional cook. The dinner was fabulous and the breakfast comforting and overwhelming. The house is spic and span. You can see your own face in the tiles on the floor and the walls. And yet everything is so cosy! Fellow pilgrims and tourists: this is a must place to go! This morning we waved goodbye. We will meet next year! ❤️

The hostess went out of her way to make sure each guest was personally attended to. The homemade dinner was delicious & breakfast was over the top - skip the toast and wait for the grilled ham and cheese crossiants along with scrambled eggs - YUM 😋
