Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe decorations of the room could be a little more in tune with the "old house" vibe.
Nice little hotel. A couple of blocks from the castle. Quiet and clean. It is really worth the money.

United KingdomThey do not have a restaurant on site - but have an arrangement with one 30 yards away. This is presented so matter-of-factually that it feels as though they are one and the same place.

ItalyThe hotel is more like a boutique hotel. All details are well taken care of. We were given an ample attic room, that was very comfortable, with all amenities well working. The room was crystal clear, breakfast is served in the bar nearby, and is quite good and fulfilling (with excellent home made bica). Easy parking around. There's a wonderful common area with sofa and armchairs at first floor, and paintings hanging from the walls are so artistic, we loved every moment of our stay. The staff is extremely welcoming, little English spoken though. Would recommend this hotel hands down.

United KingdomWe heard conversations from other guests late at night. While not loud, they made it through the walls.
The hotel is comfortable, clean and right in the middle of the pretty town, a couple of minutes walk to the castle.

United KingdomI would have liked to have been able to make a hot drink, but these were available in a nearby bar anyway.
Although our room was under the roof and quite hot when we arrived, the air conditioning worked well and the room soon became a pleasant temperature in which it was easy to sleep. The shower had good water pressure and the temperature was easy to adjust. Breakfast was provided at a café 50yards away. It was simple but very pleasant.

IrelandThe smiling welcome from the staff at reception. The cosy attic bedroom is spotlessly clean and comfortable, with air con. Secure parking for our motorcycle. The location, in the centre of the town, with all is activity to observe from the cafe. Everything in the hotel is spotlessly clean. Breakfast is served in the cafe across the square, which is part of the hotel, and the friendly staff there make you feel very welcome. Very highly recommended accommodation.

SpainNot much to complain about.
This is a small rural hotel very well situated to visit the "Ribera Sacra". The rooms are comfortable and the personnel is very nice and helpful. The breakfast is in a cafeteria in front (belonging to the same people). The toasts with oil and tomato and the bica are very good.

United KingdomThe brick walls and full window gave a lot of character to the place, the bathroom was huge, the wood floors made the place very homely. Staff were exceptionally lovely, they had a free room and upgraded us, in reception they sell lots of local food and souvenirs. It was a very pleasant stay.

United KingdomShower cubicle door was broken. Beware of attic rooms in the height of summer. They will be extremely hot, it was warm in the middle of June even with Aircon.
Nice small quiet hotel used as a convenient stop-over after a day exploring the Sil Canyons as part of a longer tour before heading down to Salamanca. Not much to see in Caldelas and very limited eating options, especially on a Sunday. However it served its purpose admirably.

United KingdomThe hotel doesn't have a dining room and there aren't many places to choose from for an evening meal. We ate at Casa Rural Pousada Vicente Risco which I can recommend.
This is a charming small hotel right in the centre of town. The staff were really friendly and allowed us to park our motorcycles in their garage without charge. Our rooms were nicely decorated in a modern style and immaculately clean. The breakfast was included and was provided in a cafe across the square. Lots of choice and very good coffee. Definitely first choice if I'm ever in the area again.
