Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHaving to leave after only 2 nights!!
The breathtaking views are worth the price alone but the facilities were also superb - we particularly loved the pool and games room. Feli and team were incredibly welcoming and could not do enough to help us. Breakfast was great and gave us chance to experience some of the local and home made delicacies. Reaching the hotel was also very straightforward and no different to many other rural roads in hilly areas we've been to both in the UK and Europe. The local town is easily reachable by taxi or car and was a real hidden gem too. We only wished we had booked for longer but will definitely be returning in future for a longer stay

PortugalHotel Granja Paraíso is, in fact, a little paradise near Cangas. The views are spectacular and it has the perfect setting to rest after visiting/ trekking the surrounding areas. Too bad we couldn't stay longer. Feli was always very kind and welcoming! :) We couldn't have asked for a better stay.

GibraltarA beautiful rustic working farm set in a location of outstanding natural beauty. Excellent service and we had a room with a fabulous view of the mountains. Definitely one to stay at for a hiking holiday as there is plenty of that to do here.

NetherlandsOur car is a bit low (and old). The road leading to the accomodation was duable but also a bit steep and exciting for me since I am not used to drive steep and sometimes bumpy roads. People get rewarded with a 20% discount on future stay if they rate the acccomodation with 10 points. That system may lead to too high rated reviews which may not be completely genuine.
The views are astonishing, the accomodation is completely deserted in nature and they thought about several details concerning sustainability, devices and electricity. Really good. We enjoyed our long day walk in the direct surroundings of the accomodation, it is really beautiful and quiet environment. Recommend restaurant at 2 1|2 hours walk, la Venta de Soto. Great local food there.

The host people are very kind and hospitable. You can order some meals also here and they will be made with farmers' products.

United KingdomThe single-car road is a bit scary up to it. The accommodation is basic. The room we had was at the back and seemed very dark with a view of the car park which was a shame as the main view is stunning. The multicoloured bedclothes and towels could do with an upgrade. When we arrived it was raining, and there was nowhere to sit inside unless you went to the games room, which closed at 10pm, or paid for dinner to use the small glass dining area. The food wasn't great, and my tomato salad was chopped tomato with a tin of tuna and oil through it. Most people seemed to bring their own food, although you do have to bring your own crockery and cutlery if you do. The breakfast was microwaved scrambled eggs and toast and bacon. If you want to use the car park close to the building, you have to pay extra. The jacuzzi was also extra and had to be booked in advance, as it took an hour to heat up. There was a vending machine for water etc and we didn't have any cash.
The best part of this hotel was the view; it is absolutely stunning. It was in a rural setting, and we had a YouTube video to get there, as it was hard to find as per the instructions they gave. The sat nav doesn't always get you there. About 15 minutes from the nearest town. The volunteer staff were very friendly and helpful, as they spoke great English. You are staying here for the peace and quiet and the view, not the facilities, which are rustic and basic. Would have loved to have had a comfy seat inside to watch the view as it was raining, but we did make use of the hammocks the next day when it was dry.

United KingdomI have stayed in similar beautiful locations in mountains with much better facilities, less expensive. - One towel per person (so the same towel for face and bum basically for the whole stay) - No air-conditioning, just a fan hung up the wall. But also unable to open shutters as there was not enough privacy. - Our room had a strange scent throughout the stay and smelled of sewage after flushing the toilet. Overall, the vibe was more of an overpriced hostel rather than a hotel. We wouldn't stay here again.
I liked the panoramic view and tranquil atmosphere, and the host was very friendly and hospitable. Close to local town and amenities.
