Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainIf fully self-catering, not a lot of room to prepare food but adequate for preparation of light breakfasts and sandwiches, the long double length pillows would prefer 2 individual pillows.
Quiet location but not too far from the main plaza, able to park right outside the property with no extra charge, comfortable size apartment for 2 people, nice modern decor throughout.

AustraliaMinor but only 1 kitchen cloth to dry dishes in 24 hours, one towel per adult, we are cyclist so 2 would be great. WiFi isn’t great.
Lovely apartment, in great condition, clean and with air conditioning that kept all rooms cool. Parking 10 meters away was a plus.

Czech RepublicThe majority of the rooms does not have windows which is normal for the location but it is not very comfortable :) Nevertheless, there is one bedroom with windows and the living room has a window. Also, the kitchen could be a little better equipped.
Good location, the town itself is very picturesque. The apartment is huge - 4 bedrooms, is clean, has 2 bathrooms. Everything is newly renovated. It was a nice stay :) The keys can be found in a keybox so you can check in whenever you want to.

What to say - that was our best apartment we had on this trip. Zahara de la Sierra is a small place and we need a nice place to rest but we found fantastic place to stay. The apartment is great, so tastefully decorated, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, great living room with very big screen tv and fireplace for heating in the winter. Air con was working great, beds and pillows were so comfortable. Everything was so clean. We really loved this place. We parked our car just in front of house patio. Absolute gem of small house. Highly recommended.

United KingdomThere was no washing machine (possibly just an error in the listing on the website). We were OK as we had other accommodation booked with a washing machine but may be an issue if you are staying for longer expecting one. Double beds shared one long double pillow rather than individual pillows per person which we found uncomfortable. We took one off another bed so we could each have a pillow, but would have been an issue if the apartment was at capacity.
Wow, absolutely fantastic ground floor apartment with views to die for at the end of the street. The place was spotless, modern, and set up beautifully for guests (tables made, lots of plants, etc). Good WiFi and air conditioning. There is also a log burner for the winter months - woukd have been very cosy (we visited in August so didn't use). Comfortable sofas and nice layout. There were 4 spacious bedrooms with small hanging rails for clothes (good for a short stay) and comfortable beds. The kitchen was well equipped with a large fridge freezer, 2 rind electric hob, and a Dolce Gusto machine. The host also provided essentials such as oil and salt, which was very handy. 2 bathrooms - both clean and nicely decorated. We only used 1 of the showers but the water pressure was very high! Lovely quiet area with free on street parking right outside the door. Gorgeous little terrace at the front- we loved sitting outside reading, eating, or having a beer. It is equipped with a sturdy wooden table and 4 chairs. Very quiet street but local passers by were very friendly and would always say hello. Worth noting the apartment is at the bottom of the hill so it's steep walking into town - we didn't mind as we are relatively fit and in our 30s but it may be trickier for those with mobility issues.

PolandApartment is a little dark - only two rooms had windows and they faced the street at the sight level of passersby, so they had to be somewhat covered to have some privacy. In addition, the stone floor was quite cold, wearing flip-flops was a must to prevent feet getting cold. Limited opportunities in town to eat anything on Monday evening (most restaurants were closed) and breakfast on the next day. Owner didn't speak English but we somehow managed to communicate via translator app.
Convenient location with adjoined free parking at the lower part of the hill on which Zahara is laid out. Apartment nicely decorated and well equipped. Clean bedroom and bathroom. Solid wifi.

BulgariaThe property is clean and comfortable. There are four bedrooms, but 3 of them are without windows. We were there in the end of February and was a bit cold- just one air conditioning for the whole house. In the kitchen there is a coffee machine but no capsules for it . No wi-fi, the host doesn’t speak any English. Not worth the value. Although is nice place to be for one or two days.
