Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe beds were singles and the pillows need to be replaced they are old and hard! The breakfast is not fabulous it could be much better. It is 40 Euro to go by taxi to the airport organised by the hotel but we didn’t know this so it was not a nice conversation in the taxi as he didn’t put the meter on. It would have been nice to know this.
The views and the host were exceptional!

United StatesThe only negative is they need to have a place to put soap and bottles inside the shower. Otherwise wonderful place to stay in Granada
The host owner Alejandro was wonderful and very helpful. The penthouse room was amazing with a beautiful terrace with an amazing view of the city.

AustraliaThey could be more generous with tea and coffee in the room that would have been nice. Also the beds and pillows need a bit of upgrade to make them more comfortable
Location is nice but a bit hard to go up and down but it’s on the hill very close to Alhambra so it’s worth the effort. The gentleman at the reception is very nice and kind and very helpful so that was also appreciated. Overall it was a nice stay

AustraliaThis place was exceptional. Perfectly perched on the hillside with easy walking access to Alhambra and the old city. Beautiful terraces looking to the Sierra Nevada were perfect for evening wine or a cup of tea. Room was beautifully appointed. Just stunning all round. Alejandro and his staff were generous and very informative.

Carmen de la Alcubilla der Caracol is a beautiful hotel, located in close proximity to the Alhambra. It’s also an easy walk into the main town. Alejandro was very accommodating and gave great advice. The view from the room was incredible. This stay has been a highlight of our trip and I highly recommend staying here.

United StatesLocated in heart on Granada, close to everything. The views from hotel are stunning. Parking is a huge plus. Alejandro was super helpful and accommodating to our needs. Helped to solve our own problems, NOT related to the hotel. We were very happy with this stay and would come again for longer stay

United StatesEverything was great, but I wish I had known breakfast was not included in the price (maybe that was communicated to me prior to our arrival and I missed it); I would have skipped the breakfast if I knew it was an extra cost.
Alejandro and the staff were all spectacularly friendly and helpful. We were there for Holy Week, and Alejandro gave us lots of useful information and tips. Additionally, the staff was very proactive in their communication (providing directions, asking for check-in time, etc). The view from the terrace was amazing. The beds were very comfy, and the bathroom is a very comfortable size with good water pressure and hot water (these are not always easy to find in Europe!). Although situated atop a pretty large hill, the location is nice. The walk up is not terrible (it looks worse than it is), but you can also reach the hotel by bus or taxi, which is very convenient after dinner.

AustraliaAll the positive comments about the Carmen and staff are true. The only reason not to stay here is if you don’t want to walk back up the hill!

United StatesThe location is fabulous near the Alhambra; just be prepared for a lot of hill walking.
Alejandro was an amazing host, the inn has the most breathtaking views of the city and nearby Sierra Nevada mountains, my room was large & comfortable with two French doors you could open for the view, and they had a nice breakfast & honor bar situation. Can't recommend highly enough!

United KingdomI would have liked more pillows (but I didn’t ask and of course should have, so my error!). The safety box in the room was too small for our use. Breakfast was adequate but not remarkable, a few extra twists could lift it a lot.
Amazing view from the room. Very very warm welcome. We felt well looked after. Beautiful outside spaces with planting. I would very much recommended. 😀
