A beautiful traditional Majorcan town house

One of our party had limited mobility. The property has a downstairs bedroom which we had identified as her room. Sadly, whilst there was also a bathroom downstairs, it is a distance away from the room and has two steps/changes in floor height to navigate. This was possible during the day for our guest as she had assistance from us, but during the night it posed a trip hazard for her when unaided. The property can't change this though. It is an old, very beautiful house. We should have checked beforehand so please be aware if mobility is an issue.

We received a warm welcome by the property manager who was helpful and charming. A full tour of the house was conducted and advice on local attractions and amenities was provided. He visited the property every few days, based on our schedule, to clean the pool, outdoor areas, water the plants and collect refuse. He was a lovely, kind gentleman. The house is beautiful, full of history and very authentic. It's equipped with fixtures and fittings in keeping with a property with this history. Don't expect hi-tech gadgets! Bedrooms are spacious, with comfy and clean beds and effective (and free) aircon. Showers are hot and plentiful. The property is also perfectly placed within the town with a short walk to the local bakery, shops and bar/restaurants.

    Nothing.loved it all

If you want an authentic amazing Spanish holiday, this is the place for you.if you want the Instagram photogenic beautiful place, this isn't for you.it doesn't have fancy modern kitchenware and furniture,or a view over looking rolling hills. But it's charming, spacious and comfortable and outdoor area (pool and BBQ) was such a nice space to relax in. Whilst you aren't in one of those remote Mallorcan villas in the hills,I actually think it's good that you aren't.because for this villas, at the end of the street in walking distance is a quintessential spanish square, with cafes, bars, ice cream parlours and a bakery.so we would have a BBQ at home, then walk for a drink in the square at the end of the night - pure bliss. I see in other reviews people have mentioned a noisy road and damp issues-we went in mid September and we didn't have any of those issues. And the host is very attentive.

Warm welcome from a kind host Pedro, beautiful pool area surrounded by wonderful fruit trees.

As mentioned it is an old house and seems to have retained a strong musty damp smell, despite leaving all the windows and doors opened and going to the effort of purchasing diffusers it just lingered. Thankfully we were able to make use of the outside space so didn't need to spend to much time inside, if this could be addressed it would most certainly be a bonus. The entrance hall and ground floor living area floor had been left unfinished and unsealed, whilst I can appreciate the charm of this perhaps as a tourist villa a tiled floor or an even polished concrete finish would be appropriate, the rest of the house had original or new tiled floors. The town of Algaida has become a busy little spot since we first visited it quite a few years ago and is currently undergoing some upgrading both roads and buildings are being worked on, from early each morning, as is the normal is warm countries and as such the tranquility we had hoped for was somewhat diminished. The bedrooms at the front of the house were just noisy the room at the back less so, all being well when the work is complete, tranquillity will return.

We have stayed in this beautiful country town before and loved it so much decided to return, it is very close to Palma and a short drive to the beach and other attractions. The house had been restored keeping many original features, if you are looking for an authentic experience this is the place for you. The host was attentive without being intrusive and had obviously put a lot of effort into bringing this old property back into a state of repair. We arrived to a warm welcome and a bottle of local wine. The owner/host gave us a quick tour of the facilities and left his number should we need anything. Picking fruit from the orange, lemon and sweet fruit trees was a real treat as was being able to cool off in our own little pool. An oasis in what has become a busy little town.
