The booking indicated there was air conditioning but our room didn't have any. It was really hot and made sleeping uncomfortable.

Loved the cool old city right in the plaça. The accommodation was in a historical building and was great for us for where we wanted to visit in the surrounding area.

We had a room with a view over the plaza, which was amazing during the night, but also in the morning. The place was cozy, and worth the money.

Restroom bit oldschool, but take it or leave it, you are back in medieval. We could not connect to wifi.

From our double room we had excellent view to main square (Santa Pau is extremely small). Shower was good, bed was really comfortable, rooms renovated. Peaceful night guaranteed. Check-in: call the number on the door, and host arrived in 10 minutes. We had good dinner with kids at Food truck in Santa Pau, suggested. (Other pizzeria was fully booked in Friday night).

Not the hostal owners fault but noisy fellow guests (turned up late & left v early) so disrupted night & guess sound-proofing isn't great. Again not a problem with the hostal but hardly anything open in the evening (we were there on a Thursday) which is surprisingly because quite touristy- options were a high-end restaurant or bar/restaurant which had a function on so largely out of service (and may only have been open because of the function).

This is a budget hotel and operated as such. We called the owner when we arrived and she showed us our very small room. It wasn't her fault that it was 35° but the café below, which was advertised as a brilliant place, serving breakfast and meals was closed for the holidays. The only other option was quite a walk away. The staff were never around to ask for suggestions and faced with another night in relative discomfort, we de-camped to a more attractive option. To be fair, the owner offered us a discount on the second night and a possible change of room and we parted on friendly terms. I think she should have warned us in advance about the café- it would have made all the difference. Be warned- it is not suitable for those with mobility problems.

The proprietor was friendly and helpful when we saw her! The aircon was efficient and the view of the square was charming. The village itself was quiet and felt very untouristy.

Lovely quiet small hotel in the old part of the village. Super convenient for fantastic walks and great little cafe below. We loved staying here!

It was at the end of the season, so maybe the family was burned out, but they did not meet minimum expectation. When we arrived, the door was locked and no one answered. We had to get the nice people at the bar around the corner to call the proprietors, who gave us the combination to open the door. They never came to greet us, but we found our own key. Next day, neither the man nor the woman were pleasant to us.

The pension is on the main square. It overlooks the church, which is quaint. The bar downstairs is run by very helpful people, who are not part of Can Menció.

Location in the very centre of a medieval town of Sant Pau is absolutely extraordinary. Very nice owners, family run guesthouse, wonderful, cosy bar next to the hotel. Free, public parking not far from the hotel
