Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

Excellent location, 10 min walk to the Guggenheim and on the park. The appartement is large, though not ideally organized. Even on the hot days it was pleasant inside and it is fully equipped. Pets friendly.

United StatesThere is a little street noise on the weekend as people return from the convention center or perhaps a soccer game. Particularly on Saturday nights.
This was a lovely apartment, perfect for two couples. The kitchen has absolutely everything you could need. The bathrooms were terrific. The bedrooms were comfortable. The location is absolutely excellent! And we really enjoy the local restaurants and particularly the bar next door to the building, Bar Jaime.

The property is in a great location for visiting all of Bilbao on foot, and with the bonus of a nearby secure car park included in the price, it was a hassle free visit.

BulgariaHorrific level of English and communication skills from the host. We were asked for 250€ deposit transferred to her bank account and it would be returned later and she said it is Booking policy, when in fact the policy is to give her the deposit cash 200€, not 250, and to receive it back cash again on the check out day. We were calling for 40 minutes without answer and access to the apartment, which lead me to call Booking, a call that cost me 60€. An hour later a call from the host comes, with the excuse that she forgot her phone in the car, at 21:00 on the check in day. Access was still not granted, because of the poorest communication skills I have ever faced. Thank God for a neighbour that was coming back home who spoke to the host and let us in the room. Lastly, the room is on the ground floor and there is a bar beneath the bedrooms, which makes it almost impossible to sleep normally. My suggestion: DON’T GO THERE!!!

IrelandThe host. The lady wanted and 250 euro deposit on top of the nightly rate of 300 plus. I refused to pay it - there was no mention of the payment when I was booking on the website. Her explanations were long and rambling, I appreciate she thought she was being helpful but she was not. Eventually I had to asked her to leave us alone. She did but came back, it was like something out of a horror movie. Will never stay again because of the host.
The apartment was very good - decor would not appeal to everyone - v good building in a good area - restaurants nearby and good transport link to Guggenheim nearby.

PortugalVery unpleasant and unacceptable things,: - on the day of the trip, when we were traveling, the landlady started sending messages for us to print a form and bring it filled out. One for each person. And she demanded copies of citizenship cards, which is prohibited. - When we arrived, 2 men left the apartment, with a woman remaining there who welcomed us and handed over the keys and asked for a copy of our citizenship cards again. - The sink in one of the bathrooms was blocked, it looked like it had only been dried and not washed, because it had debris in it. - there were 6 people, there were only 2 face towels. When we called to ask, the landlady (always very friendly) told us to pick up towels that were hanging out and if we wanted we could use the dryer. - The pillows, although they had washed pillowcases, smelled of use. - The toaster and microwave did not work. - We had to pay a deposit of 200 euros, which we were told would be returned within 24 hours of departure. But they only returned it after insistence and more than 48 hours later. - We were instructed to leave the bed linen removed and placed next to the machine and we were to take out the trash. This had never happened to us. Although the apartment has potential, there is a lot to improve. We felt we should be reimbursed.
I liked only the location. But at night it was very noisy. Lots of young people was doing very noise, and having party in the garden.

Czech RepublicThe worst check-in I ever experienced with Booking.com. We landed in Bilbao after 10pm and on our 30 minutes long bus drive to the the apartment, tired and looking forward for sleep, we were asked by the owner to send her 1) the photos of our IDs to her phone number (!) and 2) a €200 deposit to her bank account (!!). Mentioning, that she is far from the apartment to meet us in person and she will write us where the keys are situated only after we’ll do 1) and 2). We were aware about the deposit, but in the conditions on Booking.com it was clearly said it will be collected BY CASH upon our arrival. I was in shock by owner’s behaviour. We paid full price for our stay in the apartment weeks in advance and we couldn’t accommodate us when arriving on the address before midnight. __ After I told her on the phone I’m already solving the issue with Booking.com, she said she will come to accommodate us in 3 minutes. After arriving, she was angry, repeating “What’s wrong?!” all the time, hardly understanding our English and completely misunderstanding that anything could be wrong on her side. She showed me other tenants photos of IDs on her Whatsapp (!!!), explaining that “everybody does that” and nobody complained before. It was pointless trying to explain her the security issues with sending ID photos by chat, she just kept repeating it was never a problem for anybody before. ___ Unfortunately, the operator from Booking.com called me back with the solution of offering us different apartment nearby too late, as my friend overtook the conversation with the owner and we somehow managed to accommodate in her apartment. By the way, on our departure, we were told to take off the sheets and bed linen and put it next to the washing machine and also take the garbage can waste outside and put it in the rubbish bin on the street (is this normal in Basque, when renting a luxurious apartment?). Anyway, how can a host like this be granted a Booking.com licence??!!
