How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It was all too clean, convenient, modern and easy to complain about anything.
Easy communication via Booking.com app to get to the door code. It was right across from the Palau Guell, on a small, busy street. 50 feet from Las Ramblers. Great location if you want to be right with the tourists and activity. This is a newly updated flat and it could not have felt cleaner!

During our stay an air conditioning device was leaking water although we were not using it. We notified the management but none answered to fix it. We put a towel for the water drops and carry on.
The property is in good location and nearby there is a parking space. Very convenient for who comes with a car. Lockers are available in case one needs to leave luggage in case of pre checkin time arrival.

Very nice location in heart of la rambla. Very nice street with all necessary facilities at walking distance. Staff was very helpful and kind.

Bathrooms were awkward. No place in shower for soap, shampoo etc. No extra bedding provided - pillows, blankets etc. No bedding for sofa bed.
Location was excellent. Questions were answered promptly. Apartment was clean and comfortable

I did not receive the access details for when I arrived. We had no idea where we were going where we could leave our luggage and had to get into the property. There were many things which were broken and hanging off the walls, including hooks & kitchen tap. A safe would’ve been very useful at the apartment to leave our valuables in . Our room was still being cleaned at 3:30 pm even though we were told check-in was at 3 pm he even left and then came back 20 minutes later and let himself in the room while my daughter was standing naked . This worried us as staff were able to access the apartment without our knowledge during the day and without us safe to put our valuables in, we felt very concerned. There is awful smell coming from the drains or the toilets which is extremely vile even running the showers regularly was not removing this nasty smell which carried through the apartment

The location was excellent for exploring the city. There was plenty of space for 3 adults - clean & comfortable. Plenty of places to eat nearby & grocery shop next door.

Because the location is so great, it's right on the action and the action goes all night. If you are a light sleeper this location won't work for you. But I'm used to city noise so I slept right through it.
Location near La Rambla was ideal, great food nearby. Big rooms, natural light, comfy beds.

Excellent location in the middle of Rambla. Close to many restaurants and tourist activities. Within walking distance to everything. Small Balcony was great as well to get the view of the street below. For early arrivals, they have storage locker at each floor which can easily accommodate 5-6 carry-on bags. Check-in and check-out instructions were sent to the phone.

It’s position Staff exceptional, polite & very helpful. We met 2 members of staff. They were extremely polite although they didn’t speak English, managed to help us out. Whenever we called for help, someone was very willing.

The smell coming from the sewer in both bathrooms is so strong and hard to take. The twin room is by the elevator so a bit noisy. Not a smart TV. The doors are not easy to manage.
The location is fantastic , close to restaurant, shops, market and the Gaudi Palau is across the street. The security is above expectation. The furnishing is comfortable. The wifi is good. There a place to store your luggages on the premises.
