Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNothing! Everything was incredible!
This hotel was a highlight of our trip to Spain! We arrived early and the staff was able to accommodate us. The room was spacious, extremely clean, with a beautiful bathroom and a wonderful look out to the Basilica of Santa Maria del Coro. We were in the middle of aa very busy section of Parte Vieja, but one of the most amazing things of the rooms in Hotel Atari was how soundproof they were - we could open the windows and feel we were in the middle of the action, or close them and not hear anything! Additionally, the access to the rooftop of the hotel added special ends to our nights as we could go up and have a drink overlooking Parte Vieja and the Basilica. The included breakfast was also great, offering a hearty start to our day. We absolutely loved Hotel Atari!

BelgiumEveryone will have to decide for themselves whether an expensive stay in San Sebastian is a sensible investment or not. If it is, then you'll have a wonderful location here.
The hotel is beautifully situated at the end of a main street in the old town, opposite the beautiful Basilica Nuestra Señora del Coro (gorgeous view from the top floor of the hotel) and at the foot of Monte Urgull. The San Sebastián bus station (Federico García Lorca Pasealekua, 1) is an 18-minute walk away. The hotel has three single rooms. My room was relatively small but comfortable. I overlooked an inner courtyard and was free from outside noise. Guests taller than 1.85 m will find the bed too small. Coffee making facilities are available in the room. The shower is really very narrow. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Many pintxos restaurants can be found in the old town. I didn't find reservations necessary, though they might be required for more upscale restaurants. All in all, a reasonably good hotel, but like all accommodations in San Sebastian, it's overpriced. San Sebastian attracts a large number of visitors every summer. This allows them to keep accommodation prices very high, as everything always gets fully booked. This was the most visited place on my trip, and I'm not dissatisfied with the hotel, but all other accommodations in northern Spain were cheaper and of a bit better quality. Therefore, you'll have to decide beforehand whether or not you want to spend that much money on a stay in San Sebastian. For me, it was fine, albeit for a limited number of days. The well-known coastline and beach are truly superb! The breakfast is good, with a strong emphasis on the pintxos. There's relatively little bread, but you can ask for more. Suggestion: leave bread with the pintxos so guests can help themselves.

UkraineMight be loud for families with small kids, but windows are very high quality, so external sounds won't disturb you.

SwedenMaybe a little noisy from the church and people in the streets, but it is also a bit charming
In the middle of everything! A little bit noisy so close to the church and many people in the streets, but that is also very nice. Newly renovated room, nice bathroom. Good breakfast, from where you can order a little a la carte as well. Friendly crew working everywhere! We did love our stay and do recommend it!!

United KingdomWe reserved two rooms and the single room was very small. The windows were frosted so you couldn’t see out (not that you would want to as it looks onto a disused grubby courtyard). There was obviously a price difference in the two rooms, but we didn’t expect the single to be as small and dingy as it was. It was not worth the money
We reserved two rooms, a single and a double room. The double room was beautiful, overlooking a street in the old town and the cathedral. The location of the hotel couldn’t be better. 3 minute walk to the sea. Right by the cathedral. In the heart of the old town with so many bars and restaurants. The breakfast was excellent. A choice of first and second courses to order and some items on a buffet. The staff were really responsive to my emails ordering a transfer to Bilbao airport.

United KingdomIt’s pricy for what it is. It’s the location that you’re paying for.
It’s all about the location. The hotel itself is nothing special. It’s nice enough though, considering the amount of time you’ll spend there which should be minimal. The location - bang in the busy old town, is what you’re paying for.

United KingdomWould have preferred a buffet breakfast with more options - had to order off quite a limited menu.
Amazing location, couldn’t have been better. In the heart of the old town in the prettiest street, it’s buzzing with activity but the soundproofing in the rooms is excellent so we slept so well. Great shower and staff were really helpful. The food in the Atari pintxos bar downstairs is incredible - with an added bonus that you can take it up to the terrace when it’s really busy!

United StatesThe room was small but amazingly beautiful and airy. The view from our penthouse terrace was ideal for church lovers and athiests alike. If you do not enjoy huge clanging chimes every 15 minutes, close your windows and doors. We embraced all the wind, sun rain, construction noise from the city, the clang and bang of the church, the revelers 6 floors below, and just rejoiced in how wonderful and alive we felt. Breakfasts were included and top notch!!!

Hotel Atari is wonderful. It has an amazing location in the heart of the old town with a fantastic pinxos bar downstairs. It also has a rooftop balcony overlooking the cathedral where you can enjoy the slower pace of life. The room itself is spacious and modern and has amazing sound insulation given you are at the very heart of San Sebastián nightlife. Huge shoutout to the wonderful staff who arranged an amazing dinner for us at short notice, booked taxis etc. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
