Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomCould have done with a kettle in the room and a larger waste bin. Also wouldve been handy to be able to drop off luggage nearer the hotel. Carpark about 5 mins walk away. No lift so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
An amazingly different hotel , totally unique. Room was spacious and easily accomodated ourselves and the granddaughters. The space was divided by a bathroom so it felt like 2 rooms sharing a bathroom. The bathroom was very modern in design and was exceptionally clean.. Only an hours drive to catch the ferry home and located just off the motorway but was very peaceful. We purchased delicious bacon rolls at a local bakery for only 2 euros each. Bar next to hotel does lots of different hot food at a reasonable price. Great to find such an unusual dog friendly hotel. Would stay again.

United KingdomOne thing to bear in mind is that they don't have air conditioners in the accommodation - I didn't notice this when making the reservation but we were lucky as it wasn't too hot when we stayed there and they also had a fan in the room which was enough to spend the night fine.
This is a lovely small town and the hotel is right at the central square, where literally everything in town is. There are two bars right next to the hotel and the cathedral is in front, it's a picturesque area and the hotel is fairly comfortable and clean, if only a bit bare but no complains from us. This is located in a Castile and Leon exclave in the middle of the Basque Country, which is pretty cool. Also, there are many high end restaurants in the vicinity if you're driving - definitively recommend visiting around and having delicious meals. If you're driving it is pretty easy to find street parking in this town, we initially asked the hosts to have a parking spot reserved (for which they would charge 8 euros) but when we arrived it was just pretty easy to park around so we didn't use their spot in the end.

SpainWhen we arrived, it quickly became clear that there had been a miscommunication or lack of planning regarding our stay. We had arranged in advance—via booking—to arrive early at 11 AM and were assured this wouldn’t be a problem. However, when we got there, the staff seemed unaware of our booking details and initially told us we’d have to wait until the standard check-in time at 1 PM. It wasn’t until we explained the prior agreement that the situation was understood. Thankfully, once clarified, the staff handled it promptly and even offered us the room earlier than expected.
We arrived at the hotel earlier than expected after a long night of driving and let the staff know we hoped to check in early to rest during the day before continuing our journey that night. They were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to access the room around 10 AM—three hours before the official check-in time. The room was quiet and well-insulated from noise, which made a big difference for our rest. They also welcomed our pet, which we really appreciated. Excellent service—we’ll definitely be coming back!

LatviaIt was very hot day, and the room was located just under the roof - was very warm. No ac, but with opened window it cooled down after sunset
Great location right on the central square of the city. It was great to go for some tapas in the evening. Parking was available for small fee, which was very handy. You can make coffee, tee downstairs if you need.

PortugalTake ear plugs if you happen to go there during the week end or a holiday, as the square is lively and busy until late at night and all the rooms seem to be overlooking the square.
What a pleasant surprise this hotel was! located in the center of a small village in the Spanish Basque country, close to lovely walks by the river. There is a garage (we payed 8 euros), or to leave your bikes safely. We booked a large deluxe room for 3, each of us had a private space, the rooms are impeccably clean, rustic with heavy wooden doors.and shutters. 2 cafés and restaurants are besides the hotel, very practical after a long day travelling, as they serve both dinner and breakfast.

United KingdomWhat a wonderful & atmospheric hotel. Our room was super cosy & warm. There is no hospitality tray in the rooms, so a member of staff kindly gave us a kettle to use. It's super important for us Brits and our morning tea 😉

Lovely central location in pretty village, bar and restaurant next door, easy walks to the river with our large dog who was welcome to stay in the apartment (can be difficult in Spain). Friendly and helpful staff. Not much English spoken but they returned the iPad we left in the room and paid the courier costs, trusting us to re-imburse them on arrival at home. We stayed in a spacious apartment with double bad and sofa bed and an integral garage, so very safe for a car fully loaded. Would certainly recommend.

NetherlandsI was there for one night, on a Friday night, there is a bar underneath and opposite the hotel. Smokers on the street make a lot of noise. But later on it was very quiet. In the room description it says that breakfast is available at the hotel, but there wasn’t. Maybe because of a Saturday morning?
Beautiful building and they made an effort to keep in style. Bathroom was a bit out of style, but I liked the shower very much.
