Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandA bit more facilities would be useful in the kitchen. Garden furniture needs replacement. Be aware that there s no washing machine but there are 2 nice public lavanderías un las Arenas, 10 mins walking from the hotel. If you are coming with kids there s no children equipment but it s close to playground,if your kids are still not tired after walking in the mountains ;)
Lovely owner. Location - two stores just behind the corner. Clean. Amazing mountain view. All rooms on the ground level.

United KingdomThe only bad thing was.. I had to leave.
There is a very good reason that this property gets such high reviews. The owner is a fantastic lady, very helpful, who makes you feel at home. The rooms are exceptionally clean, the bedding, kitchen, bathroom etc. The garden is a lovely place to sit in the afternoon to read or relax. Superb location with supermarkets near by, and easy to get to all the restaurants and cafes. Kitchen is great, beds are extremely comfortable, garden is lovely, easy access, owner is wonderful. What more do you need?

SpainIt wa s all great.
Every thing. The Owner was very accommodating, although unable to communicate with us in any English (which we knew beforehand) we didn't have any problem as our Spanish is sufficient. Non Spanish speakers, I'm sure would get by with say google translate. The accommodation was well stocked with what we needed for a week's self-catering. It had a lovely little garden, where we sat after returning from our walking adventures every afternoon. We could park our car for free, in its little car park located to the side of the property. And to top it all, you have 2 little supermarkets, within a minutes walk from it. Arenas has everything you need on a holiday, shops, restaurants, bars etc.. And it's the start of a few Alsa bus routes to the more famous Picos de Europa National Park hiking trails.

The location was great for everything we had planned to do. The garden room was lovely and the kitchen area was well equipped to make simple meals. We only meet Begona once when she came to ask if we needed anything, and although I dont speak any spanish and Begona has only a small amount of english she managed to understand that we would like another set of towels, which were provided. The checking in process was very simple and like Begona the young lady who gave us our keys was cheerful and friendly. The garden at the back of our room had lovely views of the mountains as well as a resident Robin who we could almost hand feed. We have only seen a small part of this beautiful part of spain so will definitely be back.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing.
The apartments were just lovely, all situated round a little courtyard full of flowers. Our apartment had French doors opening onto a rose garden at the back with the mountains beyond.. You could lie in bed in the mornings with the doors open listening to the birds and the cowbells in the distance - it was heaven! It was really useful to have the little kitchenette so you could make some food and there was a handy supermarket right next door. The owner, Begonia, is the kindest person, so friendly and helpful.

IrelandKitchen was small and very basically equipped. A kettle and mugs would have been great , with perhaps a cozy armchair in the bedroom.
Location was perfect , in the lovely town of Arenas de Cabrales , near Poncebos and Carrels gorge, with the backdrop of the Picos every morning. Supermarkets and great restaurants close by.

United KingdomA tea pot would be good but that is hardly a problem.
This was a lovely hotel/apartment. It was clean and the small kitchen area was equipped sufficiently for breakfast and making a light meal. Fridge is very useful. The staff and owner were extremely friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay so much we returned later in our vacation. Arenas is a lovely town with good places to eat and, if you have a car, easy access to the northern part of the Picos. There are a few walks directly from the town.

United StatesQuite honestly, I can’t think of anything disagreeable about the property.
Easy to find, easy to park, and easy walking distance to everything in town. The little kitchen was great for preparing simple meals, and the front patio was a lovely place to relax, as was the private little yard. Even though some of the furniture was dated, it was comfortable and clean. The bathroom and kitchen were modern and spacious. The proprietor is extremely friendly and easily available if you need anything. Her genuine warmth was very welcoming and appreciated.
