I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel in Galicia. Although there was a small issue when I first arrived late at night — the key hadn’t been left in the key box — I was able to stay with friends nearby. The very next morning, the manager personally came to pick me up, which I found incredibly thoughtful. From then on, everything was just perfect. The hotel is located in a stunning area, my room was spotless, and the atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming. The staff were extremely apologetic and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. They not only refused to charge me for the stay but also offered complimentary breakfasts as a gesture of goodwill. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but what truly impressed me was how kindly and professionally they handled the situation. Because of that, I would absolutely recommend this hotel and would happily return.

Omg where do I start! Super clean very well looked after property. Sofia, who runs the place, made every effort to make us feel comfortable. She and her husband even came and picked us up by car in Sao Bento due to the raging storm to bring us to the aparthotel in A Guarda. Talk about great customer service

Hotel Marouco is amazing. The host was so lovely, making me a cup of tea and offering to put on the jacuzzi for me. Really warm and helpful. The best was one of the comfiest of the Camino.

The room was beautifully furnished, lovely views and very clean. Very comfortable. The pool and facilities were very good. Sophie was very welcoming and friendly, she is a huge asset to the hotel and did everything to make our stay special.

I had the most wonderful time at Apartamento Marouco. Loveley and very friendly staff. Sofia was so funny and warm and I felt so very welcome. The location is far from the town center, but well worth the extra time to get there. We would have liked more offerings for breakfast. Yogurt, some juice, and some fruit would have been appreciated.

It was a beautiful hotel with an amazing outside area with a pool and jacuzzi. The jacuzzi had just been installed and was not available for use by guests yet. Sophia, the hotel manager, could not have been more welcoming, helpful, friendly, and thoughtful. She even picked us up from the town center! We had been walking the Portuguese Camino and were quite tired when we got into town. We called to get directions to the hotel, and she offered to pick us up. Sophia is an amazing asset to the hotel! We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and our 70th birthdays. When we got to our room, Sophia had made us a handwritten card, provided delicious chocolates, and sprinkled flower petals on our dresser. It was a lovely surprise! The room was comfortable, and we had a very pretty view from our window.

The hotel has a nice exterior area next to the swimming pool, including a barbecue place and a nice garden house ("the champignon"). Thanks to the fast wifi connection I was able to combine work and vacation perfectly (workation). The receptionist was always extremely helpful when we needed any help and in the end, she even sent us some thing via mail that we forgot in the room (thanks, Sofia, the Galician olive oil arrived undamaged :))

For me it was a perfect stay to have a restday from the Camino. A pool for the sore muscles, what else do you need? Sofia was awesome and really friendly! It was a nice place to get some new energy for the camino. I would stay there again. Great view as well! Muchas gracias Sofia!

This gem is an absolute 10 !!! It was a privilege staying there . At one side the mountain , at the other side the sea and in front a beautiful garden with a lovely pool! But the ace in this hotel is Sofia , the lady who runs the place with kindness and effectiveness! Thank you Sofia we will always remember your smile and your positive energy 🙏 It was a little bit out of the Camino, but it was worth it.
