Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NorwayThe bedroom was okay and you couldn’t hear the noise from the street that much but keep in mind that from the living room you can hear everything that’s happening in the streets. My cousins didn’t sleep that great, it was very noise.
Location couldn’t be better and it’s great if you travel as a small group.

AustraliaThere is no window at all in the kitchen or living areas, perhaps the reason why there is no street noise. Currently doing renovations to some part of the building, I often heard drilling or tradesman's machinery. paid 250 Euro for 2 nights Basic kitchen facilities. No wine glasses!
Location was very good. Liked having a washing machine and iron. Water pressure in the shower was great. Air-conditioning worked well. Beds pillows basic but ok. I didn't hear any noise from the street.

CanadaWhen we arrived, nobody was there. There was a note on the door in SPANISH to (call the following number if you want to enter the building). You need to have a local phone number to call them and we didn't have a local number. We only had the Whatsapp app which was not helpful.

United KingdomThe advertising picture is NOT the same apartment. All the windows open into an enclosed area. No views whatsoever. I told those on charge many times in Spanish what time we would arrive. Yet when we arrived, there was no one there to let us in. After 20 mins of ringing various numbers, someone finally turns up. Decided to have a shower after a long journey. Sadly it was a cold one as no one had bothered to ensure we had a heated hot water tank. Uncomfortable beds.

SpainThe horrible strong smell in the room. The shower hardly drained the water and it would overflow out of the shower. Did not complain because we stayed 3 nights only.

United KingdomThe road outside can be noisy (ear plugs or long walk around Madrid to tire you out?) and the door requires a certain technique (quick pull towards you and then push, at the same time as tapping the fob)
The location is amazing. Very central allowing easy access to East & West Madrid, the train transport system (SOL) and shops and restaurants, cafes and bars. The host was great and responsive. Best to set up a WhatsApp chat and use a translation (which I did).

HungaryThe bedliniens should be changed, the pots were not washed well. The apartman is a little bit dark because the windows face to an inside wall.
Very good location in the heart of the center, close to metro and restaurants and supermarket. Staff was very friendly. The beds were convenient. The apartman is inside the building so the very busy city center's noise is not coming in.

United StatesWe were scheduled for 4 nights. We told them we’d arrive between 6-7 pm. We arrived at 7:15 due to delays. There were 4 numbers to contact on the door. We contacted all 4 via text and phone as well as email. No response. We called Booking.com for support. They tried to contact the owner. Nothing. The Booking agent told us to wait an additional 30 min which we did. For a total of 75 minute wait after arrival. Nothing. We found another small but adequate room nearby. We heard nothing from Apartmentos Madrid until I contacted again about 8:15 the following morning. She said she was there. When we arrived and checked in there was no apology or explanation. We tried to express via Google translate that it was very disappointing and inconvenient. No apologies or explanation. We felt it would have been appropriate to offer some kind of discount, but of course none was offered. We were not charged for the night we did not stay.
The location was great. Easy walk to Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor and anything in the downtown core. The property was clean and the apartment adequately well appointed.

Good, spacious flat. Good kitchen, fully equipped. Free washing machine. Comfortable bed. TV and air conditioning in the bedroom and living room. Everything very clean and tidy. Carmen's friendliness is a plus. As soon as you arrive she says "Welcome". Fully available to help you and give you information about transport and places in the city. The location is very good, 300 metres from Puertas del Sol. Around the flat there are several restaurants, bars and two large supermarkets. I'll be back next time I go to Madrid.
