“Right in the centre of the old town with a little supermarket just around the corner, this historic building sits on one side of a residential square where it serves dinner by candlelight. The owners are lovely - so friendly and caring - Manolo carried my bag up and down the steep stairs to the room. It is furnished with antiques, retaining the feel of the building's history, yet also has good AC and double-glazed windows. The food was excellent - my king prawn salad was beautifully-presented too. Breakfast is served to you - fresh orange juice, homemade yogurt and granola, Teruel jamón, scrambled egg, toast and jam. You can stop easily outside the hotel to unload, but parking is outside the old town. Rubielos is a lovely town of stone and timber houses; local regulations prevent any outside drinking after midnight.”
“This is a wonderful, slightly old fashioned hotel with lovely staff. It's set in beautiful gardens and is quiet and tranquil. The rooms are a very good size and the beds really comfortable. There's a terrace overlooking the gardens where you can have a pre-dinner drink. There is a varied menu of excellent local produce and the wine is delicious! It's just a five minute walk into the walled village.”
