Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAfter my wife injured her finger The doctor was overpriced and attempted to charge over €700 pounds for 4 stitches, an X-ray and ancillary’s on my wife’s cut finger. In the end after discussing and complaining to the hotel management we paid €500.
The snorkelling off the pier was superb from this hotel and its sister hotel, The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. They always had lots of lifeguards on duty and I always felt the hotel was very safe for the children. I would stay at the hotel again.

SloveniaHowever, there is still plenty of room for improvement. Cleanliness of plates, cups, and glasses remains an issue – many are still dirty even after washing. The drink dispensers are outdated, and for a hotel of this standard, guests would expect real Coca-Cola, Sprite, and Fanta instead of syrup-based mixes. Larger glasses at meals would also be appreciated. Meat quality (sausages, minced meat, beef) was unfortunately very low. Desserts have not improved much either – they are still artificial, dry, and taste like store-bought products. We would expect more homemade cakes with fresh cream, fruits, and natural flavors. Shops and the kids’ play area were a disappointment this year. Shops sell overpriced items, often cheap replicas, and even basic toys or games were poor quality. The playroom is overcrowded, the games are damaged or broken (foosball, air hockey, PlayStation 5 joysticks), and there is no supervision – children are left to misuse the equipment. Also, the same cartoon was shown on repeat for two weeks, which quickly became boring for kids. Evening animation was weaker than last year. Entertainment at the amphitheatre had a much better atmosphere compared to the poolside shows this year. Unfortunately, by the lower pool the music was so loud that children constantly had their hands over their ears. It felt more like a rave after-party than entertainment in a family hotel. There was far too little focus on small children and far too much on partying and drinking. Kids do not need role models in dancers dressed like in nightclubs. You need to decide what kind of guests you want, but in our opinion the hotel is drifting away from being family-friendly. For kids, more climbing structures and motor skills games would be far better than deafening music. Overall, the price of the hotel has increased by almost 150% in two years. While improvements are visible, many areas still need serious attention.
We visited Amphoras Beach – Ultra All Inclusive for the second year in a row with our 4- and 5-year-old children. Compared to last year, we noticed clear improvements, especially in the dining experience: higher quality dishes, more variety, natural juices at breakfast, and meals more suited to Western tastes (meat dishes, risottos, different types of pasta such as baked pasta and lasagna). There are also more restaurants available for meals, where staff truly make an effort to pamper guests. Service is outstanding, from housekeeping to reception – everyone deserves praise. Another positive change was the towel service, now without cards, which is a big plus.

The staff were professional. However it would be advisable to have front office staff who can communicate in other languages not just Arabic.

United KingdomDecor in the family rooms were run down and outdated On arrival, the arrival wasn’t as good (no smile or welcome for instance) and was rather uncomfortable with very little information other than a QR code that didn’t work all the time. In fact… information was lacking in quite a few areas! A more comprehensive hotel booklet would have been great - the app is a nice idea, but just didn’t work. At the bars it would have been great to have drinks menus for instance to maybe try a signature cocktail from the hotel - when I asked the barman just pointed to the spirits on offer and said you choose! Our room was dirty when we got to it and we had to report - however, any time we raised a concern they dealt with it promptly (the cleaning, laundry services for instance - we didn’t spend our holiday complaining!). Entertainment wise, the day crew were so full of energy and ran some good events (our boys enjoyed the squid games the most!), but evening entertainment tended to start much later in the day (because of the heat) but we tended to be knackered by then so didn’t see much. So to finish, we loved our stay here, but having stayed at different 5 star resorts previous to this, we did expect the “ultra” all inclusive title to delivery more.
A great range of pools to move between and well maintained. There isn’t too much of a rush in the mornings for sun loungers so you can take your time. Fantastic beach with some great snorkelling (love those fishes)- for us this really made the holiday! Such a beautiful setting! Staff worked their socks off and were on the whole very helpful be that the cleaning staff/ barmen/ waiters Different places to eat in at the resort, so it doesn’t feel too samey. Different themed evenings for food so the variety was good the food was of a very good quality (better than some of the reviews we have read). Good shuttle bus service provided to Naama bay for shopping.

United KingdomThe times of food at different snack bars and drinks bars wasn’t clear. We Bly found out on the 6th day that there was burger and chips each day at the bar by the beach. Also the hotel taxi service is a rip off. We booked our taxi from the airport with booking.com for £4.50p The reception quoted is €25 euro for the return Journey which we then booked again on booking.com for £6. The taxi service rips you off and it’s a shame it’s on site. Just walk out to the main road and get a local taxi for at least half the price. Also take euros - the shops in the hotel are cheaper if you pay euro instead of Egyptian pounds.
Fantastic location, on the beach and lots of pools. You can choose a quite one or lively pool with activities. The best thing was you an wake up at 9am for a late breakfast and still find a sun lounger - no silly early morning wake ups. Great activities and shows in the evening. Friendly staff and the app allows you to reorder toiletries or have a free mini fridge top up. Great jetty on the beach to swim in the ocean and snorkel.

EgyptOne disadvantage I experienced was the distance between my room and the beach area. The walk was somewhat long and tiring, especially during the hotter parts of the day. This is something that could be improved in terms of room allocation or by offering easier access options for guests.
I particularly appreciated the excellent location of the property, offering direct access to the beach with stunning views of the Red Sea. The hotel grounds were well-maintained, with beautifully landscaped gardens and multiple swimming pools that created a relaxing atmosphere. The staff were courteous and attentive, ensuring a high standard of service throughout my stay. Additionally, the variety and quality of the food exceeded expectations, and the entertainment options provided a lively yet family-friendly environment. Overall, the property offered a perfect balance of comfort, leisure, and hospitality, making it an enjoyable and memorable experience.

South AfricaThe lack of proper service in food places. Everything is dirty. The salt shakers are thick with dirt. And even like this when you are the first to eat. Annoying in trying to find a table as well. The rooms need an upgrade. I complained that the living room aircon was not working. They said your room one works, so stay there. What was the use of getting this room then? Even the sliding door to the balcony needed a serious workout to open and close. Not good.
The view. They assisted me with a golf cart to get to the restaurant. I am not able to walk properly at the moment. Thank you.

DenmarkThe hotel taxi was terrible. They were rude and asked for more money when we arrived at the destination although he had agreed to the price before.
The service was great. Our refrigerator was not working and when we contacted them many staff it was immediately changed. The food was good. A lot of choices. The rooms and pools were clean.

Lithuania- The door locks are strangely designed, which makes everyone slam the door very loudly when leaving the rooms. - Since we went in April, the water in the pools was cold. We did not find a heated pool in this hotel. - Coffee.... but it's not only this hotel, in general in Egypt hotels it is difficult to find good coffee...
The room was large, spacious, renovated, and clean. Bottles of drinking water are brought to the room every day, and the staff is helpful. There is a large selection of food - there are various meat and fish dishes, salads, and even a healthy corner where steamed products or vegetable purees are served. The melons are incredibly delicious. :) There is a pharmacy near the hotel entrance, also some grocery and souvenir shops just around the corner. The location in general is good, the water park at Albatros can be reached within minutes by taxi for like 1,5 euros (if you use InDrive app).

United KingdomThe food was mediocre at best. The dining room is laid out badly so everyone is always dodging everyone else to get food. Though it was inclusive, the drink options were minimal and the spirit options were terrible. I assume all local spirits but essentially they all tasted like pure alcohol and nothing else. Even the spirits which were chargeable were terrible.
The number of pools and bedroom was clean and spacious.

NetherlandsWe stayed in the old part of the hotel, in chalets with one bedroom and an extra bed in the living room. The chalets were very spacious but in need of renovation with noisy airco’s. Food was ok for kids but not delicate or special, in large and noisy restaurant, more a canteen
Nice reef, good dive center on location. Nice desserts and raw vegtables, and ok breakfast. Many families with kids, mainly Russian, and friendly atmosphere.
