Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The location is very great. Easy access to public transportation. It is close to Egyptian museum within walking distance. The hotel is refurnished but I am quite satisfied with it. At first I think the plug hole didn’t work well, they explained to me patiently. I like the green color which matches my shirt. I don’t find it noisy maybe because I am usually quite used to the noise. If you don’t like noise then prepare earplugs for yourself. All the staff are really friendly and ready to help all the time. Before I leave I don’t have time to buy stamps because it’s weekend. I asked help from Nadine, she said yes without hesitation and kept me updated about my postcard. I like this hotel and will come back next time.

The location is incredibly safe and central, able to walk to a lot of restaurants and the downtown museum. The staff are incredible. We arrive after 1am and they were available. We then left at 6am and they packed us a Togo breakfast. Wouldn’t book anywhere else in Cairo.

TurkeyIt is a nice hotel, centrally located and makes you feel safe. The hotel is in an old inn. You may feel a little uneasy at the first entrance :)) The staff is friendly and helpful, especially Nadin speaks Turkish and was very helpful.

United Kingdomroom size is a bit small, but I was well informed by the room description. The door does not really cancel noise from the corridor though.
Perfect location right next to talaat harb roundabout. Very very nice and friendly staff. Room is well equipped, comfy and clean. Also no noise from the street. Decent breakfast.

Germany1. Loud noise during the nighttime due to busy activities (bring your own ear plugs if you need to, and the hotel will not provide due to legal reasons > aka health reasons). However, it is not Hotel's fault, and they are trying their best to renovate and soundproof the building. 2. The bathroom was tiny but manageable, shower head placeholder was loose and requires maintenance to keep it steady.
Our stay was excellent except for a minor inconvenience that was out of their control (water pipe burst = no water), but they were fast to fix as soon as possible, so appreciated for their efforts. The room was excellent with a balcony to see downtown (literally central Cairo). The bed was great, and the lighting was good (press twice to get a warm white light instead of bright white). Service and the staff were exceptional (they will go above and beyond for you). They helped us with Uber request and taking us down to the driver (speaking in Arabic so we don't get swindled). They also helped us with Talabat (food delivery app) and were able to get dinner delivered to the hotel! They also recommend a good traditional restaurant that is very fair in pricing. Great female staff members who helped us with cleaning and breakfast. A/C was a plus! To get to the hotel, it is on the main road and it's inside a huge double black doors next to shops and it is the second elevator (go straight inside the doors and turn left) and the hotel is on the 2nd floor.

United StatesThe interior of the building is shabby but the cleanliness of the hotel overcomes that one defect to the property.
Hathor House is all you need for a decent, clean, and conveniently located place. It is a 10-minute walk to the Cairo Museum, near several ATMs and places to eat. Wifi worked just fine. Stay here if you want a clean and inexpensive place.

BulgariaMost rooms have an en-suite shower but mine didn’t because it was too cheap. The common “shower” however turned out to be just a small toilet with a shower head. Hardly usable.
Location, staff, cleanliness inside the hotel and the historic building were great. The overall state of the building was not great but this applies to most old building in Cairo, not this one only. As the hotel occupies only one floor in the building, it is not their fault that the other businesses located there don’t keep the common areas clean enough.
