Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI didn't have those experiences
It was a New Year's celebration that was so fantastic. But two or three days at the pyramids is a wonderful choice and breakfast sunshine are the best views possible. I'd invite many people to go out to the pyramids and spend a couple of nights in the hotel and save yourself the long Transit from your Cairo location.

United StatesThe location was a little difficult to find. The iber dropped us off at a different location. So we had to go by other tourist pics around the area to figure it out. I think if they has a bigger sign it would definitely help. Otherwise, everything was great.

United StatesThe entrance to the hotel was confusing because the intial floors aren't part of the hotel, as well as looking older and a very different style (not really upkept). The sound of the city can be heard thoughout.
The room space and cleanliness was great, and if you like to be in the center of the city/downtown, the location is a great way to explore that area, as well as having a balcony with a view.

United Arab EmiratesThe overall experience was amazing and great value for money. Staff are very helpful and welcoming. Whenever we needed help or we have some request, they will come asap. The building was super old and the location was in middle of a busy street. There’s a lot of shops downstairs and you can easily get a taxi. Great location though. The room was exactly as described in the picture - clean and nicely furnished. You can hear the noises from the outside but we are not really bothered about it because that is what we wanted, to experience the real Cairo. The elevator was too old-school. It was a bit scary like what you see in old horror movies but at the same time kinda fun experience. Dont expect too much with the free breakfast but i guess its ok with what you have paid for.

EgyptCharming old building in the city center, on one of the main streets of Cairo. Hotel is located on the 6 floor and windows are on the street. Which is not so good, as you hear honking all the day and night. But this is typical for most every Cairo streets. The staff, Mohamed and Andrew, was extremly helpful! The room was very clean and warm, hot water was really hot. We have small fridge in the room and we could use kettle and mugs in the shared kitchen. The breakfast was basic, but enough to start your day and live till lunch. The room was rather small, but I didn't expected too much in such old building. The location of the hotel was perfect, if you want to see Cairo down town, national museum and Abdeen Palace. All these places you can reach by foot. Also the Go bus station (Tahrir) was very close and we don't need taxi. As our bus to Sharm el sheikh was at 6.30 p.m. and the traffic at this time was awful. So we just walked 15 minutes and here we are, on the bus station.

PortugalWhen we arrive, the recepcionist wasnt too polite. We wanted to know the informations and he was all the time speaking with another employee and ignoring us. The building of the hotel was really dirty, even wasnt them fault. When we arrived at room there wasnt toilet paper and there was just one towel (we were two!). Also, we had a tour at 8am, so we asked for a breakfast 10minutes earlier. The recepcionist said that was ok. In the next morning there wasnt breakfast, we went to the tour without eating.
Room was good and confortable. Location was very good, in the center of Cairo.

DenmarkThe location was nice and the rooms were clean enough. The staff were nice. The elevator is an antique piece to experience and it works just fine. We had arrived earlier than the check in time and we were super tired and they were accommodating enough to understand that and give us a temporary clean room to rest. After we were provided with a better room. The only thing that kind of raised my eyebrows in the beginning was that I had ordered a transfer from the airport and nobody showed up :/ When we called the guy who picked up the phone called us back and told us that the driver did not pick up the phone and we are supposed to come on our own and pay for it too. That wasn’t quite fair but considering the hospitality we received, I didn’t want to complain about it. Though I think that the prices for the accommodation is relatively higher. Otherwise a typical Cairo city hotel. We enjoyed our stay :)

United Arab EmiratesClean, spacious rooms with a view of the street life below from the balcony. The location is perfect for exploring downtown Cairo and the hotel is great value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had planned to stay in a different part of Cairo on the second half of our trip but came back to Golden Palace Suites because we liked it so much. We stayed in two different rooms and both had great balconies and views.
