Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe personal guidance of Friendo is top. Great location evening fire and ask for the hotspring in his garden. If it does not work he wil take you to a hotspring what is amazing. Take him with you as a guide for €20 a day and he shows you everything in the surounding. I stayed 3 days longer and it was no problem. His name is what he becomes a friend with a big heart.

GermanyAll good and as described
Friendos house is a great get away from the city noises and perfectly located between dessert and farms. It offers a private hot spring and a family vibe. It's typical siwa style, simple and quiet. Enjoying chilled time by the fire under the stars. As a solo traveler it's great as you can have a private or shared room for a reasonable price.. Thank you

SwitzerlandBeautiful place with private hot spring. You can sit at the fire in the evening, enjoying the guitar. Friendo is a very kind owner. He takes good care after you, preparing fresh breakfast. You also can make tours with him, showing you the beauty of Siwa. I stayed 4 days and Friendo became a real friend, he makes you feeling at home. If you are looking for silence in good company you should stay at Friendo‘s house. Thanks Friendo, hope to see you again inshallah

JapanGreat owner. The location of the guesthouse is a quiet place, where you can enjoy his guitar and hot springs in silence. It's a special experience. Breakfast was also good. We also went on tour with him. It's affordable. He took me to places that only locals know about, and I had a great time.

SingaporeI’m honestly at a loss for words about this accommodation. The experience was deeply frustrating, and I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through what I did. First and foremost, you are not given a key, meaning you must coordinate with the owner to enter the house. That would have been fine—if he were responsive. But he wasn’t. I was left waiting alone on the streets (it was during Ramadan, so all the shops were closed) in the dark for over an hour, desperately trying to get a reply. When he finally responded, after an hour he told me to pick up the key downtown but wouldn’t give me the exact location. Another 30 minutes passed before he finally told me where to go. In total, I was stranded outside for more than an hour and a half—tired, completely helpless and harassed by the locals. When I finally got the key, I told him how frustrating the experience was. He apologized and offered to pay for my meal, but honestly, the damage was done, so i rejected. Then came the breakfast situation. We had agreed on 11 AM, which was already quite late, but I tried to be understanding since they were fasting. Still, I politely suggested 10-11 AM as a compromise. Even though I was starving by 9 AM, I kept my word and waited. And waited. At 11:10 AM, the owner had just woken up. By the time breakfast was actually ready, it was noon. On the second morning Friendo did wake up earlier to prepare my breakfast at 930am Throughout the stay, he kept saying things like, “You’re a guest, now you’re family.” But honestly, staying at Friendo’s place just meant constant waiting. I wonder if he actually respect other's time. To top it off, there was no hot water on the first night, the heater was on (though it worked on the second), and the location is quite far from downtown, costing 100 EGP (US$2) per trip to downtown. Now, to be fair, the house was generally clean, though no top cover was provided—so I have no idea how often the blankets are washed.

Maldives• Located far from the main area. • Displeased with the customer service. (Quite honestly I found locals of Siwa to be that way, not just friendo) I was kept waiting for friendo in a lot of times.
