Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandThe only bad thing was having to leave! :(
Don’t know how to start. The staff including the Silvia (manager), drivers (Ahmed and Mohamed), chefs, etc were AMAZING. They were honest, super helpful and kind. Never experienced this from a place and having travelled to many places. Recommendations were honest and tours at excellent prices and super well organised. The location is also great. While not at the city centre, you get to be close to the Salt Lakes and other attractions. This area is better than the city centre. The mountain nearby offers an amazing morning trek for a beautiful sunset or sunrise view of the city. Highly recommend the Safari tour and Salt Lake tour. The swimming pool was also excellent. I was able to rest there in the afternoon and do tours in the morning and late afternoon. I travelled during summer and there were water and electricity cuts but this is normal for remote areas in developing areas during summer. People should be mindful that not everything is meant to be the way it is in developed countries. Embrace challenges such this as part of your travel experience. I travelled alone and it was very fitting for my solo travel needs. Thank you Silvia and the rest of the staff!

SloveniaCafour was definitely the right choice for our vacation in Siwa. I traveled with my daughter, and we truly enjoyed every moment we spent there. The pools, the food, and the kindness of every single person are all things we will remember fondly. Silvia managed the place in a highly professional and excellent manner. She was always available to offer helpful suggestions and arrange trips, which made our stay even more special. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to relax, far from the noise, Cafour will not disappoint you.

Great little resort with very nice staff, amazing food and great areas to chill. Silvia, our host was very nice and helpful and she spoke perfectly English (among other languages). She arranged transfer from/to bus station and local excursions and trips with tuk-tuk for us. Would definitely book again.

IrelandIt is quite far from the city centre and while the guys are great to arrange a tuk tuk in, you don’t have the option to just walk to the shop for a snack or a restaurant for a meal.
The property itself is beautiful and the staff are so nice. Sylvia was great for arranging tours and advising on what to do and Ahmed and Mohammad were excellent guides! All tours were really affordable and good value for money. The cold and hot pools are great. It’s seriously great value for money. For solo travellers it wasn’t very social sitting by the pool but going on the tours was the best way to meet people!

AustraliaI absolutely loved Cafour House! The place itself is very peaceful and the pool is so nice. The hot tub is great when it's cool enough outside to use! Sylvia was lovely and I really enjoyed the city tour I did with Ahmed. The breakfast and dinner were both really tasty. It was super easy and very affordable to organise tours through Cafour House too. I didn't really want to leave here!

Australiathe bathroom had a really bad smell so we kept the door closed throughout our stay. fly screens weren’t covering the entire window so mosquitos were getting in (we ended up shoving our scarves under the door & windows to block it). was also quite far out of town (our fault for not checking) which was inconvenient for us but we staff were able to help us get taxis everywhere.
beautiful communal areas woven through nature, pool, hot spring, shady undercover areas and cute aesthetic rooms. they can also organise lunch & dinner (dinner must be ordered in advance). staff were helpful.

United KingdomJust 1 minor point I can think of, I wish there was a bug net in the bathroom window too, so we can keep the bugs out while the place airs through, especially at night.
We had a really great stay at the Cafour House in Siwa. The host, Silvia, really took care of us which really made our stay exceptional. The offered activities were a lot of fun. The salt lake trip, swimming in the briny lakes, was an experience I will never forget in my life. The city tour, lead by Mansour was super exciting and culturally mind-blowing. He is very passionate about his heritage, and listening to him speak and sing was truly inspiring. Another exceptional experience I will never forget. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. I will take those Egyptian beans over English ones any day. Dinner was also very delicious and exceptional value for money. Make sure to pre-order dinner by 2PM, if you want one of the meat dishes. The facilities themselves were nice too. The sand is so soft, clean and well kept, I did not have to wear slippers on the property at all, which is a really nice plus.

United KingdomYou are at the mercy of the staff and at times they are all on a break together, so you have to wait around even for something simple like a bottle of water.

Lovely place, beautiful plants and lots of different areas to relax in. It's super quiet and the staff are really lovely, they go above and beyond. Some aspects are quite simple or could be improved but it's amazing value for money. During my stay there was a big group also staying which disrupted the peace so it's worth checking ahead. Otherwise, it's an amazing place to relax

EgyptProbably the best and fairly quiet place to stay in the Siwa Oasis: two pools with hot and cold water, comfortable chairs around them and tables so sit, relax and eat. The ground is pure sand with trees and bushes. There is also a dining hall. The rooms are build in local style sparsely furnished only with beds and one shelf. Breakfast is encluded, diner may be ordered. They organize a driver and prepare organized tours. The management is very helpful in what ever is needed. We will come back.
