It’s near the top of a very steep hill, quite difficult to climb in the altitude. There are not really any shops or restaurants in the immediate area so you must descend the hill. Fortunately ride share is extremely cheap in Quito.

A good budget option with friendly and helpful staff in a quiet area. The beds were comfortable, although upgraded linen and towels would be a great improvement. Shops and restaurants were available at the bottom of the hill, and there is a great art museum at the top. A simple breakfast was cooked fresh each morning.

Under the circumstances it’s hard to imagine how they might have improved. A guest has a choice. You could pay double the rate and go to a hotel that has its own electricity generating ability. By staying at this hotel I experienced how life is for millions of Ecuadoreans.

Quito Ecuador was experiencing 12 hour per day electricity shut off during my stay at this hotel. They succeeded at being creative to stay open and functioning. The staff remained friendly under the most adverse of circumstances. Walter, the main staff person deserves a commendation and salary increase. He seemed to do everything at all hours.

It took a little while for the shower water to heat up - this seemed like we were using a lot of water as had to run it for several minutes each time to get warm water. Once it came through it was constant.

The hotel was really beautiful and very well located. It was the epitome of calm and was so full or character and charm with all of the antique pieces and artisan crafts. We loved the roof terrace with the hammock and fantastic views of the mountains and city beyond. The breakfast was a delight and coffee and tea free lowing. Very kind and attentive staff.

The hot water in the shower was not the best, but we understand that this is the normal in the area.

Staff were very helpful and friendly, even to special requests that were fulfilled. Breakfast is great, the view from the dining room is magnificent! Location is also very good, despite the very deep hills, but it's the normal of the area, and doable with a car. You're super close to Fundacion Guayasamin and other attractions that are not historic downtown.

Quite loud, you can hear everyone in the hotel from your room. You have to be buzzed in and out of the building which is a bit inconvenient when there’s no staff around, sometimes we were waiting outside for over 10 mins waiting for someone to let us in. Building is on a high hill (great views) but difficult walk to and from the hotel so be aware

Hot watter wasn't working properly, the first day had to shower with cold/ice watter and the other days was just a little warmer. Also there were this tiny beetles on the floor, more than 2 per night.

As the hotel is getting older, it could use some upgrading for example the blinds...the bathroom should have extra shelves to put ur toiletries. And most importantly the shower hit water is not very good did not get hot to take a shower as it is winter time when we're there.

The cleanliness of the room. Stuff are helpful and make sure my extra request to have late night hot water for tea is delivered in my room. Walter the stuff is at ur service 24/7....
