How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Difficult to regulate the water temperature in the shower and there were some very tiny ants in the room. We asked for a box breakfast and it was not ready for us early the next morning. No information at the front desk about things to do, beaches, good walks, good restaurants, simple town map.
The location!!! The breakfast included. The size of the room.

A little bit noisy from people and sea lions outside and a bit inflexible for food and drink items outside set times

Not cheap
Next to the sea front. They kindly made us packed lunch instead of breakfast if we had a tour early morning.

Unfortunately we could only book a rear/ garden view room. Not a water view room. And the view from the room was not great, and there was a slightly loud fan outside our window, downstairs, that was annoying when the window was open. Recommend a water view room if you can.
Everything was perfect, staff were very friendly, Checkin was easy, location was amazing, and great value for money.

The beds are really small. The one that we had was supposed to be a queen but it felt and looked like a full. The room was small and the most expensive room we paid for in all 3 islands. The hotel was not sold out and we asked for an upgrade. We were told that it would be $50 extra for the empty room across the hall. Because the property was empty, I don’t understand why we couldn’t get the upgrade. Just didn’t like that very much.
The property was very nice. Located right on the waterfront. Breakfast was included and the staff was extremely nice.

We were there during a freak rain storm, this was not the hotels fault but our room ended up having a leak from the ceiling and while the gentleman at the front desk tried his best and we understood that they did not have another room. They really did not do enough to help clean up what became a disaster. During the evening it got worse and because they had no one on duty overnight in the lobby, we were left searching for towels and buckets around the property to try and solve the problem.
The location is fantastic, and is walkable from the airport and being directly across from the pier is ideal for making trips to other islands within the Galapagos and almost every tour leaves from here making the early mornings that much easier.

Beds are very firm, but we still slept well. Hot water varied during shower.
Clean and comfortable right at the port. Boxed lunch available on request if leaving before breakfast started. Staff friendly and helpful. Quiet location.

No private place to seat to enjoy outside view, no balconies. Very basic room for the price.

Shower drain had some issues and would pool.
It was super convenient to the docks, restaurants, and available taxis. It was secure and it overlooked the water which was great to wake up to. Included a decent breakfast with very kind staff.

I wanted to extend my stay and there were available rooms, however the hotel did not honor the price I found online. The manager/owner explained that the discounted online rates are only for first time customers/guests and that if I wanted to stay i would need to pay their front desk rate. Every other hotel I have ever stayed at would gladly honor online rates or at least match them. Disappointed with this response I did not book online or and decided to leave.

surfers beware. they will tell you it’s not permitted to keep boards in your room and then charge you $5/day to store in storage area next door.
